300 HP isnt that great. I like how the psi is adjustable though. I see there are three stages for the kits, I dont know anything about turbos, does each of the stages get progressively more powerful (able to handle more psi)?

ok well i posted up a pic of it on the crossfire. and i still need to talk to the guy that does the programming n such. he sells the program to tune it and/or will tune it. but yea the stage one kit is $1995. the stage 2 kit is $2495 and the stage 3 kit is $2995. he told me that the stage 3 kits are on SALE!!! for the price of a stage 2!! and they have dealer locations across the U.S. he was talkin to me about how this kit can handle up to around 450 hp. he told me whatever i wanted HP wise he could attain. he laughed when i asked if 350 was attainable. he was like easily lol. but im still talkin to the guys.

is anyone interested at all? i may be able to do a group buy

what does stage 3 mean? I know we have high compression, so that probably means we need new pistons correct?

That or just run less boost. New low compression pistons with labor might be more than your ready to get into financially.

for concerns regarding effects water will have splashing up at it ... ceramic coating the unit will reduce that threat and is not very expensive to do (200 or less for hot side housing ,,,, mattering on how much prep they need and how big ... i recommend white lightning coating)

concerns about crushing the unit ? build a protective brace just like rock crawlers do out of some sqaure tube steel ... there is plenty of points to attach it to and making it skidable will ensure the car skids into obstacles rather than ripping the turbo off and whatever it is attached to, like parts of the body ... does not eliminate damage but reduces it ...

still recommend anyone doing this reads up some ... talking to people and understanding the engineering behind it are two different things ... your engine will live longer if you take the later approach.

We had this kit on an 05 Pontiac GT slOw. with the 6.0L block. There is a dyno @ school. The instructors installed it during an open house for parents students, and future students to see. The car was totally disassembled beforehand to allow the install in one day. That block ended up being toast. Don't think is was any errors in assembly or mfg. They ran runs @ something like 4psi and raised it in incrememnts. From what I heard the block "developed it's gaping hole alongside cylinders 2 and 4" in the area of 10 to 13psi. not even one atmosphere!! The power put down was in the area of 600 if I'm not mistakes. This GTO since then has a new block and no STS turbo kit on it.
sounds like they just kept pumping the boost up without monitoring the air fuel ratios and exhaust gas temperatures ... you can make a window to the inside of your block with stock power if ping is not kept in check. adding boost creates extreme heat as compression of air generates a huge increas in intake air temperatures that GTO would of seen. being on a dyno even with a good industrial blower fan going at the rad and intercooler is just not the same ... add that to possible tuning problems, air fuel ratios leaning out, or EGT temps climbing above safe limits ... presto.

Cool kit and all, but isn't the real issue getting the ECU to play nicely with FI?
