Default any change between '04 and '05 model years?

I am maybe a day away from buying my Crossfire. I have one question I need to answer in order to help me decide (I've narrowed it down to 2 options):
If all else is the same (mileage, remaining warranty, price, etc), are there any differences between an '04 and an '05 Limited coupe?

The only thing I can think of is that the '04 has an auto dimming rear-view mirror and I don't think the '05 does.

The '04 has an auto-dimming mirror? I'd like one of those for my '05 roadster. How does it connect electrically? Does it have a compass or temperature in it?

I always thought the lack of autodimming rearview and side mirrors was cheap on a $40k car.

I can't tell you how it works electrically, but it doesn't have a compass or temperature in it. Too bad they quit installing them.

In '04 they only made limiteds. In '05 they started making base and limiteds.

The 04' has the auto dimming mirror, and can be added to the 05'....but the only feature is that is auto dimming....no compass or temp.

If you have the extra money...check out a few SRT6 Crossfires......bigger bang for the buck.

They Can't even be turned to the side windows
(of course they are so small they wouldn't do much anyways! )

The Silver plastic on the center dash and consol has a glossy finish in 04 and a matt finish in 05.

Except the SRT does not come in a manny tranny (lousy Mercedes Benz engineers). My only requirement in my new sports coupe was to get a manual transmission (which I missed badly).

When I'm in the modd for a big bang, I'll just drive my Daytona.

Oh, congratualate me y'all: As of 4:090 this afternoon, I became a Crossfire owmner!
04 Graphite coupe!
Now...any mod recommendations? I need to find a way to connect my Zen mp3 player to the stereo....

Welcome to the XF owners club!! I have had mine for 10 days and I love it. If you find out how to nicely hook up your MP3 player, let me know. I'm having to use an FM modulator right now with my Zune. Better than nothing, but not much.

I am pretty sure that the Crossfire letters on the trunk lid are mounted higher on the 05 and later model years? I have an 04 and have noticed this easy way to identify an 04. The letters are closer to the edge of the hatch at the bottom! Anyone know the reason for the change??

I have it on good authority (Andrew) that the letters were moved up so there is room for the little SRT emblem that goes under them, on SRT models of course.

They are moved up ever so slightly.

Yep, those "lousy Mercedes Benz engineers" sure did put one of the world's most sophisticated, intelligent manumatics in the SRT6. This is the only automatic I have ever owned and I must tell you, I'm not missing the manny tranny much at all, especially in traffic. This autostick optimises every ounce of HP and tq by shifting lightning quick and smooth at the optimal shift point. 0-60 in under 5 seconds, no muss no fuss.

Now, now, there's no need to be on your high horse. Read my post again, perhaps more carefully, and you'll I mentioned I also have a Charger Daytona. The Crossfire SRT6 is not the only American-badged vehicle manufactured by DCX with a Mercedes automatic transmission. I will agree that it is a fine transmission, but in opinion it is not the same as rowing your own.

Note I never even said the transmission was lousy! I said the engineers were lousy! MB has a habit of issuing their performance vehicles with automatics only. Where's the fairness in that?

I installed a Gentex 453 Autodimming mirror with Homelink(R) and compass in my Crossfire SE. It's easy to do and added features I wanted.
