Anyone else's manual trans slip out of gear occasionally? Primarily on take-offs right after the shift into second. Mine has only slipped out of second, no other gear. Does it a couple times per week I'd say. Scares me to death. Sounds like I ran over a turtle every time.

I'm thinking that perhaps I'm not properly shifting into second and when I hit the gas it bumps out of gear. Any thoughts?

 

Mine has only popped out of 1st one time and that was over a year ago.......but never second. Popping out of 1st has been a noted problem for many but this is a new one. Let us know if it gets worse or you find out what the cause is.

 

ask your dealer about the 2004 TSB synchro update. they will cover the repair for free.
