Default Hello

Hello - I just wanted to introduce myself as a new Crossfire owner. I just purchased my 2005 Base Coupe last week. It has 28,000 miles and I was pleased with the price. I was originally looking at new vehicles but dealers around here were reluctant to come down on prices, even though they admittedly weren't selling ANY Crossfires at or near MSRP. So I have a used car and all the fun that comes along with it. The only flaws I've noticed thus far are a stain on the driver's seat (probably coffee), the rear driver's wheel has been curbed, and the headlights have some fogging.

I'm not planning on modding the car excessively. My other car is a 2004 Sentra SE-R Spec V with a Procharger C-1 pushing 12 psi. It got a little out of control for a daily driver.

I really enjoy driving the car. Even though its only rated at 215HP, it feels quite nimble and the ride really impressed me (of course it was the car's looks that won me over). One improvement I'd really like to make, however, is to the shifter. My Sentra has a short shift kit and weighted **** which makes the Crossfire feel like extremely rubbery and the throws excessively long. I haven't had any luck looking for a soirt shifter so I'm assuming there aren't any production ones on the market. I did find a nice weighted **** made by TWM that resembles the stock one (2" Ball, Satin Aluminum, weighs 460g or ~1lb) but they don't specify a model for the Crossfire or Mercedes so I was wondering if anyone knows what the shift **** thread size/pitch is?

I really enjoy the forum. The young community at the Sentra board I've been a part of for the past few years often leads to childish arguments so it's nice to see that won't be a problem here. I'm looking forward to joining your community and I wanted to thank you for the information I've gathered thus far. It was invaluable in helping me purchase my car. - Jay

Hi Jay, and welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry I can't help ya with your shifter, but if you try "Lifter 1" carpet and upholstery cleaner, you might be able to get the coffee stain out of your seat.
It removed a 25 year old grease stain from the carpet of my vintage car, and so far I haven't found anything it hasn't worked on.
