Read post 17 and 18, as post 18 states its actually not a nut but more of a threaded clamp with an allen bolt thru it to loosen and tighten. Most cars use a nut with a cotter pin to keep it in place. Sorry I don't have any pics.

I have my drivers side tire off right now I really cannot find the "spindle nut"

Is that where i access it from? By removing the tire?

Any help would be appreciated! Since this problem is a problem I seriously hate.

When you remove your tire and wheel you should see a cap in the center of the rotor you have to remove this cap and inside is what your looking for. When you have your car jacked up off the ground grab the top and botttom of the tire and push back and forth and if you don't have any play in the wheel you probably don't need to adjust the nut.

Actually it's funny I don't know much about cars except for the basics like oil changing, changing light. Coming to this forum totally expands my knowledge about cars.. haha

Love it!

Had to see what you guys were talking about, and yes the passenger side on mine with 38,00 miles was loose. It is a pretty impressive setup.
Thanks Pat for the heads up

If your trying to get the dust cap off, try using a slide hammer with a gear puller tip. I'm pretty sure you can rent one from autozone or a local parts store.

I'm prettysure I was the first person to take mine off since it rolled out of the factory so it was probobly stuck on pretty good. A few good pulls with the slide hammer though and it popped right off.

Was it the bolt on the steering shaft or the wheel hub?

Come on guys, where are the step by step DIY's with pictures and diagrams and a complete list of the exact tools needed, estimated time, etc! Haha not ragging on the forum but just went from a jetta to a crossfire and the DIY's at vw vortex were amazing! I'm not a car expert but did a few very complicated things to the jetta with no experience using them haha. We need a specific part of the forum with a complete index of these.
