Default Celebrating 50,000 Miles

Troublefree 50k and counting. People still ask me if this is a 2009! The last person said. "This is the best looking car I have ever seen." I said,"ok". and he replied," No. You don't understand. This is the best looking car I have EVER SEEN!" I shrugged my head and drove away.

That's nice to hear, Paul. Are you on your second set of tires? How many miles did you get out of the first set? Did you have any minor repairs along the way?

Bob

Hi Xfirenorth,
Two sets of tires, Contis with apprx. 30k on the first set. No work done except oil changes every 7400 to 7800 miles per the FSS. The driver side seat bolster is showing a little wear in the threaded seam due to sliding in and out. I use this as a daily driver so the miles add up quick. The car is still fun to drive.

Coupegirl,
I am surprised you needed a replacement engine at only 44k! This V6 engine (M112) was one of "10 Best" picks by Ward's for three years. I expect mine to last 200,000 before rebuild.

There was an article in the KC Star a couple of months ago about a traveling salesman in the area with a Mercedes (C320? can't remember??) that had this same engine in it.....he was working on something over 400,000 miles with no major issues.....changed the oil every 7-8 k.

Coupegirl, did you buy that one new? Was it a stick or automatic? What year was it? How often did you change the oil?

Bought it used 2 owner, maint were done at dealership so first owner took care of devolped a loud steady tick, not the normal tick of a benz,,,,the found scarring inside the engine, they tried to fix it by replacing lifters, that did not work..... it was a 04 auto, and changed every 6-7K.......
