Default ESB/ABS Question ???

I just replaced the Relay Control Module on my 04 due to a NO START issue, while this seems have cured one problem it may have created another or it maybe just circumstance. In any case my ESB/ABS light comes on, the wing goes up and the led on the wing control switch blinks constantly. I did a search and found a couple of threads pretaining to this same issue, but unfortunetly I didn't see any followup resolutions posted. Well except for some kinda steering angle sensor reset, which I have tried to no avail. I also disconnected the battery to see if the warning code would clear....nope.
Any constructive ideas would be much appreciated !

Soooooo, I just got back from the local mechanix dude, dropped 40 bucks to do a scan read on the coupe. Turns out the right rear speed sensor is out of whack ! Makes sense since the traction control lights are illuminated and the wing has decided to procure a mind of it's own. Local MB has the part in stock, more information to come post install !

I also read on here someone with a similar problem.
They just disconnected the battery and reconnected and that seemed to do the trick.
He resets itself.

Stogey - What I found and I was one of the ones with the problem...... Once you do the reset my car (Crossfire) takes a while before it actually resets. I don't know why but I have found this the case each of the two times it happened KOW its been over a year ago on the Crossfire. So give it 24 hrs. If its still acting up my only solution is a trip back to the dealer. Mine was doing exactly what yours was doing, felt real stupid going thru the bank line with my spoiler up! I had even made an appointment at the dealer to have it looked at which I cancelled the next day.
Don't feel like the only one on this. We bought an 04 Mercedes this past fall and it had the same issues. We had to have the "steering angle control sensor" replaced. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Hey Pat,

I took mine to a guy here in Austin whose shop works on Mercedes and other high end cars. Has over 50 years of MB experience working for him. They cleared all of the codes out of the computer, drove the car down the street and it pinged the same code it had in it before.
They're tellin me it's my right rear speed sensor which is an OEM part so off to the Benz dealer I go ! Second time this a week ! Hope this doesn't become a habit
I'll post my results in the next day or two ! Thanks for the good wishes !

Mind boggling isn't it? Remember the days when you got in your car and just drove it, you didn't have to worry about this module and that sensor. I'm glad they found the culprit. So far so good on my Crossfire, it took me two trips to the dealer to get the Mercedes fixed. Hope you are good as new real soon.

Thumbs up Re: ESP/ABS Warining Light Question !

Replaced the right rear speed sensor this morning MB part # A 170 540 13 17. Woo Hoo ! Warning lights cleared as soon as I got the car up to about 20mph, the wing is acting like it's supposed to ! I'm freakin happy !
