Default racing a bmw + undercover cop = oh **** moment.

I was driving down 460 and a bmw was tailgating me... then passed... I thought I would play along... we were going an average of 85 but hit 100...

We even drove through a 45 limit area at around 85.

Anyway. I was in the left lane and he was in the right... he was slightly ahead (when I play with people I never go ahead of them for this reason I am about to mention... Anyway... I saw a car trying to get infront of me from the other lane... I didn't want to be a ***** so I slowed down and let him over... the moment he got infront of me.. he turned his lights on and pulled the bmw over... just feet from where I was...

All I was thinking was... oh **** that could have been me...

Any of yall have this happen to you? Your racing someone and only one person gets caught?

This is why you play keep up.. but you never pass.

Yeah, he's 19 years old. Hopefully he makes it out of his teens in one piece.

Yes it's stupid but we all partake in such immature activities Always remember if your on the highway going head to head with another guy and a cop shows up on your tails, for oblivous reasons, NEVER be the first guy to pull over!

Have fun and use your brains next time. Open roads make you an easy target for the cops. I like to go flat out in tight confined roads where there is almost no where for the police to hide. and be cautious of intersections, better yet double back and scan the hiding spots on the highway where you plan on going ***** out on,

Me and my friend will cruise I-95 and route 8 here in Connecticut regularly at around 140mpg sometimes 150mph. I'm in my Porsche and he's in his twin turbo Lotus esprit. What we do is give each other a lead of a mile and we'll have our cellphones on with headsets.

If he spots any cops while in the lead he'll let me know and vice versa. we take turns doing this in the summer.

Of course if there is traffic we don't drive like this.

What's your secret to getting 140mpg @ 150 mph?

not racing, really...but i was on the turnpike when a small caravan of black Suburbans blew by me. they had regular Ohio plates, so i didn't think much of it. i decided to "run" with them, not wanting to lead or anything. went on for a maybe ten miles, then the last one fired off some pretty red n' blue lights that were in the back window behind the tint. playtime was over, i guess. never figured out what agency they were from.

Years ago a friend was going to take his family to Arizona to visit the in-laws. Since it was summer and his car didn't have working AC, he borrowed my car. After he got back he told me how he was tooling along with another car when a cop came up behind him and turned on the lights. As my friend started to slow down and pull over the other driver apparently figured it was safe for him to speed up since the cop was now busy with my friend. The cop saw this and changed targets...

This is an old post of mine, but it fits this thread.

But from what I've heard about the Laws in Virginia, I feel uncomfortable going 5 mph over the speed limit anytime I pass thru.
Too many "very civilian looking" unmarked Police cars.

i call that car tag... we play that too. usually on long trips. one person goes ahead, at whatever pace they want...aka fast...for one minute. then they have to go the speed limit and you see how long it takes for the other car to catch up...then switch...usually keeps us entertained on long road trips...which being in houston could be just to get to the other side of the city
