Why have XF's KBB (Blue Book) value gone up so much??
Why have XF's KBB (Blue Book) value gone up so much??
I just ran a KBB on my 2006 XF LTD Cpe Auto 24k Baze Red and it was $2,425 higher than it was 5 months ago??????? That is a huge increase. It has gone up thousands and I was wondering why? Is it because they are decent on gas? Please let me know if you have any idea? My excellent trade is $16,050 and retail is $21,500. Thats is a huge increase. Thanks

That's good news!
I'm assuming it's because demand is high and supply is low. Also because dealers no longer are providing incentives.
I also think it's because of all the youtube srt6 drag racing videos where the SRT6's stomp on virtually everything. The word is getting out about how high performance these cars really are.

I personally think that a large part of this value increase has to be the marketing...you can see that in 2004 when it was first released chrysler did no marketing...now that it has aged like a fine wine over the last few years. Marketing has built up. No, not in the money Chrysler has put into the car, but rather in the word of mouth the car has received. People ask me all the time why I chose this car over any other and it is because it is the best that the money can buy. I haven't talked to many, if any, that absolutely can't stand the car and the number of people head over heels about the car is huge. So like I said better marketing, straight up grassroots marketing. Let's keep it up.

One can only hope that this is a long term trend.
The wife & I are giving the Coupe one more month to sell, if not then we're keeping it. I refuse to sell it for anything under 12,5. To heck with it, I'll eat 2 car payments.
Since the missus works at the town grocery store every kid around here knows about the Xfire's & they all want the Coupe. The insurance & maintenance would probably kill them but word of mouth works well in small towns!

The NADA used car guide Southeastern Edition shows a loss of about $3000 since last October.
My SRT6 coupe was $23975(clean retail) and dropped to $20925 (with mileage ajustment) in the last 10 months.
KBB values it $22515 for excellent retail.
I don't have an old KBB, but I think they valued the SRT6 at around $30000 Febuary 2007.
So it looks like prices are still dropping.

Been following the car for a while and N/A prices are where SRT6 prices were fall of last year. Sucks we were not seriously looking then. haha
But in all reality the Crossfire is a beautiful car, and where it has a high MSRP the used ones are a steal. And what, only 2,000 '08s were made. As another person on here said. Supply and demand.

But since you specifically mentioned "5 months ago" that would make it March 18th, and "Winter" prices may be one reason for the difference in today's prices.
Traditionally, Sports Car prices go up in the spring, and stay pretty stable throughout the summer, then come down with the leaves in the Fall.
