Any suggestions for my crossfire ?
Hi everybody,
I ordered a flowmaster muffler for my crossfire and asked them to keep the same tips and plug the muffler. After he had plugged it, I felt like the noise bothers me so much on highway. I dont want him to plug my old exhaust back because it will be costly and i'll have different tips.
He told me that he can put a resonator to keep the sound a lil down.
any suggestions for it ?
thanks...

I had a flowmaster installed and hated it. Like you said, the noise on the highway inside the car is terrible. A resonator won't make a big difference. I ended up switching out the Flowmaster for a Magnaflow muffler. I also had the stock tips welded back on. It sounds great inside and out the looks stock. If you go to youtube and enter Crossfire and 12158, you can see and hear my Xfire.

thanks for the magnaflow suggestion. This might sound weird but I want a sound like the original exhaust which is kinda quiet. I just want to make sure magnaflow will be as quiet as the old exhaust. Otherwise I have to put back my old exhaust.
Also I used the tips from old exhaust for my flowmaster so now I need new tips that has 2 inch diameter. It is really hard to find it for my old exhaust.. Any suggestions about tips ?
thank you ..

Don't listen to the one about the resonater won't help much.
Adding a resonater will quiet it down alot and allow you to keep the low tones the Mercedes V6 is known for. Plus it is on, very easy to add and cheap enough that if you don't like it you wont be out really that much more than you already are. Just trying to save you a lot of agrivation and alittle money ta boot...
Enjoy the Ride...

I hated a car looking this hot being so quiet so I put a flowmaster dual tipped muffler on (round chrome tips) and it sounded great for about two days
got so loud I couldnt hear my cell phone with revs over 2500. had the shop put on a resonator and its perfect now. the resonator will quiet it down without silencing it. To be honest it still is just a tad bit to loud somethimes when youre trying to talk to a passenger but for the most part its dead on where I think a car should sound. I like the look of the round tips but Im glad I decided to keep the stock muffler too if I ever want to put it back on. good luck
