ripples in door arm rest
Has anybody found their drivers door armrest forming several ripples in it where ones elbow rests? Is there a way to remedy that without replacing the whole door panel?
How do you remove the engine cover to access the air filter?

My suggestion would be to take a electric hair drier and warm up the area and see if that softens the material enough to work out the ripples.
I believe all you need to do is pull up the engine cover from the rear. It's only held in place by rubber grommets.

Gently tug the cover straight up starting in the front and then working to the rear. There are 1-2 grommets under the front, but definitely two in the rear, one in each corner.
According to the 2004 Service Manual Volume 2, page 9-608
Under Engine Service Information
Air Cleaner Housing
Removal
Note: The air cleaner is held in place by two rubber grommets and two spring clips.
1. Remove the air inlet tubes (2)
2. Lift the air cleaner housing from the rear first, then from the front and remove it.
