Oil Changes & the Lifetime Warranty ?
Does anyone know for sure that Chrysler will honor their "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" as long as you change your oil (Mobil-1 0-40) each time before the DSS hits zero? My first oil change was free from the dealership & I had it done with less than 7,000 miles (DSS still said good for another 1,000 or so), so now I've got 14,600 miles on it & the DSS still says 1,200 left......suggesting 8,800 miles total between oil changes.....
My fear is that somewhere in tiny print they may require oil changes more frequently than what the DSS suggests ...

If your follow whats in the owners manual religiously and take it in for the 5 year inspection you should not run into issues. Keep all records

What he said. Keep records. The Flexible Service System tracks several factors and tells when to change the oil. No need to worry though be sure the flavor of Mobil 1 0-40 is the right one - there are a few different ones - you want the extended service flavor.
