Default Clutch Adjustment, Second gear downshift

I recently had the clutch replaced under warranty after it failed suddenly. Seems now that the clutch does not engage until the pedal is a couple of inches off of the floor. Can this be adjusted easily? I have not put the car on ramps yet. What should the clutch pedal travel be before the clutch engages ?

I am also having problems getting the car back into second gear on downshifts some times. Is this a shifter adjustment issue ? Before the clutch failed the shifting seemed to be real smooth.

Sounds like a fluid issue. Take it back, because it's a modular, self-adjusting clutch. Maybee just air in the line, or a possible slave cylinder issue.
