Drivers Side window won't go up!!!
It just started about 2 weeks ago. I roll my window down fine....but when i hop on the highway and want to roll it up...it does nothing. It seems to only really do this when it is chilly out. I'm in the STL and it's been like 50 or 60 as of late. When I get to work I turned the radio off and I hear sort of a clicking sound for about 2 sec. and then nothin. I have to keep pressing the up button (some times like 50x!!!) to get it to go up. I think it might be a bad relay ...any ideas?
Move to a warmer climate! J/K. My wife's Expedition had that problem with the switches on the drivers side. She always leaves her drivers side window down like 3 or 4 inches, even in the rain. I told her when I first saw her doing this a year ago that when she does this and it rains, water is going to get in these switches and the switches will stop working, and guess what...the switches stopped working. They work if you press really really hard on the switches, so I went to the local junk yard and found a complete switch assesmbly for $15 and swapped it out. Works fine now, or at least until it rains again.
I had the exact same problem. I could put the passenger window down, but not up. Sometimes it's went up, sometimes not. Like magic. More likely to happen when it was humid. Replaced the switch, no dice. Took it to the dealer. Not sure if it's true, but here's what they said:
First, the window motor/regulator was blown. Replaced. Window still didn't work. BCM replaced. Window works fine, so far.
Total cost approx 1000 dollars. When I picked up the car, the wing no longer went up and down. The wing switch light would blink continuously. The dealer fixed the wing is 20 minutes. Something about programming the BCM to recognize the wing.
Now there is a rattle in the door. Going back to raise heck next week.
