I took out the metal bar on mine and replaced it with a 1/2 pint of Jack Daniels. It is more of a safety device than anything else, you never know when you might get stranded out in the cold and need some antifreeze!

Sounds like an excuse to me... a good excuse, but still an excuse.

 

I just dove in, and realized there are not two screw holes for me to mount to below the carpet. I do not know what sort of fasteners are used. I just don't see how everything fits together.

Can someone who has one take theirs off and show us what is underneath?

I like what this guy did for his SLK 32. And he's posted a nice how-to, and he ended up with matching pedals from left to right. What do you think?

I like it, and would definitely do it if I had a SLK32. Since I own a Crossfire, I would rather have mine look exactly like it would have if Chrysler had the foresight to put it in theirselves. Has anyone else added an OEM dead pedal yet?

 

But doesn't that Merc pedal rubber nub pattern look just like your Mopar's? I'm going to check it out tomorrow the local Merc dealer. I'm not overly thrilled with the plastic dead pedal on my car.
