ABS Control Module
That's something you might want to leave for a pro. If it's where I think it is on the hydraulic control unit you have to disconnect all the hydraulic lines to get to it. Why do you think there is something wrong with it.? If the ABS light is on it could be one of several different sensors that could be the problem. Your better off having a tech diagnose the problem.
I can't help you with the removal, but when I had the ABS fail on my A6 I found a place out west that rebuilt them for about $250 vs over a grand for a new OEM. Not sure if they do Crossfires, but if this is a Mercedes part they may. Worth looking into depending on parts cost. Do a google search.
The ABS on the Audi does not pump any brake fluid. It is the "brain" that hooks to the master cylinder and that takes care of the balancing (as I understand it). I was able to drive the Audi for a couple weeks w/o the ABS module. It braked fine under normal conditions, no need for ABS.
