Ya I know right!! I forgot, how can the horn and brake lights not work with the key out, those are safety things!

Oh I guess the radio doesn't work without the key. Just saw this in the maintenance manual...

"The audio system is standard factory-installed equipment. The system uses an ignition switched source of battery current so that the system will only operate when the ignition switch is in the ON/RUN or START positions."

Funny. Seems to work in my car with no key.

Okay - back to the original topic.... Mystery solved! Don't remove your battery when the car doors are locked - it sets off the alarm big time.

I went back to get my battery the other day and, with the door unlocked, there was no issue.

No more Crossfire 'till April

Had that trouble while disconnecting the battery to install an extra power outlet. Turned on/off??? the tow alarm. That stopped it from happening.

Winter storage. My house doesn't have a garage so for the winter I store the car in a long term storage facility. It's a bit of a drag 'cause I can't even go take an occasional look at it. Oh well... it's way cheaper than building a garage.
