That is not the same skirt that is posted on post #1. That is the skirt that I want. The one just posted is too round and dosent flow as well with the lines of the car as the Mayaman photoshop version in post #1.

This is the same one as the first photo in this thread. I'm assuming that you are talking about the bulge in the lower portion of it. I think that is just how the photoshop happened.

They dont look the same to me. The #1 dosent have that bubble look and defined little lip below the notch in front of the rear wheel. #1 also has a recess step below the door. Am I halucinating??

I think that has to do with the lighting affect on this image. If we want those chiseled hard edges, we'll have to make them happen. So is it the consensus that we want chiseled hard edges like the above photo or the more rounded like the factory SLK ones?

Not really feeling the photoshop, I agree it needs to stick with the MAYMAN posted one, not to worry we can tweak it hear and there, this is the point of posting a photoshop instead if just jumping to production. Looks close but doesnt flow nearly as well we will have to toss the 350 style out and stick with the 32 style.

I think this angle better illustrates what the original photochopped photo meant.

That's what I thought we agreed to.

It is the shop was going to do both renderings, this is the first one we got with the new style looking sideskirt with a touch of old, Personally we thought it would look better softer, now we can see we were wrong. We know that is what we dont want now we go with teaking it till we get what we do want as a group

Inferno, that is IT. That view shows the difference in the the front behind the front wheel and how the rear flare blends in under the door with no lip below the merge point. Plust the step under the door sets it off nicely. I think that one looks MUCH better than the one on the newer SLK.

Correct. The newer SLK has a flared wheel well for the skirt to die into. Ours don't have that.

Here is a very quick render of what they will look like. This is with the older SLK sideskirts NOT the newer ones. Sorry the image isnt' any bigger but its' the best I could do at the moment.

So how much lower is the new skirt going to be? I hope its a at least 1-2 inches lower to match a front splitter or lip and give a more modified look. Then again its my taste .

2008_04250008.jpg

or this way, no matter what the sides need to be lower!!!

agreed paul they will only look lower if your car is lowered. They will be slightly lower then orginal but nothing close to that riegier side skirt that is on Koreans XF. If you look through his gallery they are WAY and I mean Way to low. We are in the process of doing a few more photoshops just so we are all on the same page. Hang tight for round 2, these things take time and mulitple rendering to get right, it just so happens we have a group of 25 guys all on board. lol if it was just me cliff and rudy you wouldnt see anything but the end product. So please lets all just be patient and enjoy the ride to a more agressive modern looking crossfire....
