Has anyone here gone to get an exhaust done and afterwards regretted it? I got mine done yesterday and I think I should have stuck with my OEM exhaust maybe I'll get used to it!!

 

What kind of exhaust did you have installed?

 

I took my resonator of the SRT-6,just to put it right back on. Too Loud. I'm interested in a Borla muffler for the SRT-6. Thats with two pipes going in and two pipes going out,If its made? ... Don

 

I find the stock exhaust on the SRT to be awesome. I wish the Limited had the same deep sound but have no plans to change it.

 

Mine came with an exhaust. It works fine and I like it.

First I got it done from the cat's back with a new muffler and bigger pipe that sounded ridiculos, then I told them use my old pipe and leave the new muffler and it still sounds way to loud but I've spent to much money already, next pay cheque I think I'm going to put my old muffler back on It's awsome when your going flat stick but when your crusing its to much I think!!

 

Hey Kolevski... Was it a Magna Flow exhaust? I've been told the Borla is much quiter? ... Don

I have the Magnaflow 16633 cat-back.......absolutely love it!

Me and MI1XFIRE were the only 2 (I'm pretty sure) at the Woodward cruise with them on......everyone else loved the sound, even the SRT guys.

The Magnaflow is a little loud at first, but it mellows out with time, or in my case....a few runs down the dragstrip! When I first put it on, I thought "damn....maybe I want to switch back to stock right now"...glad I gave it some time. Now I'll freeze my a** off with the windows down just to hear it play it's music!

 

I am looking into the same thing. Trying to find out the difference between the magnaflow pipes and borla pipes. Can't decide on which one i want. I was trying to find sound clips of both on youtube but could only find magnaflow clips... I guess not many people want to pay the extra for borla. Does anyone have a sound clip of the borla pipes?

 

When I removed my rear cats, it was perfect with the stock muffler! Just a little more sound which was just right, until I removed my resonator. And now I'm dealing with an annoying drone inside the cabin. Sounds great from the outside though.

 

I have just the resonator removed an love it. Since I added the modified manifolds it sound a little better, deeper. I called the dealership about a air pump for the SSB and he remembered me from picking up the AF sensor gasket and said..'your car had a nice growl to it when you were leaving'. I had parked right in front of the parts building windows and he was inside when I left. I love to rev this car up and hear that throaty growl build up with the speed.

I Had a magnaflow muffler on my LIMITED, something like 122121 something,, do a search you can come up with the numbers, Sounded beautiful up to about 55. LOL but once you hit 55 you either had to drive above or bellow to tolerate the drone.

On my SRT6 I have the resonator delete, I love it, would do it again in a heart beat no drone just louder.

IMO I did Dave's car, a customer, who had an SRT roadster with stock exhaust. I drove that for a day and loved it, If louder wasnt my thing, you cant beat that nice stock tuned exhaust sound.

 

You're all going to be like But I'll be honest I'm not to sure what a resenator is? I'm assuming it's not the muffler? is it the catelinic convertors? just another name for them or?? Sorry about the ignorance but I've heard about alot of people taking off the "resenator" and loving it!!

 

In general, the goal of aftermarket exhaust systems is to increase the engine power by reducing the back pressure of the factory exhaust system. Frequently a side effect of a free-flowing exhaust system is the increased engine sound, which is desirable to some people. If you want the most HP potential you will have to deal with the sound.

I got my Borla installed on Saturday and its awesome! I don't know why everybody says its to quiet. You're nuts, the drone is pretty loud, I can't imagine it being any louder. It sounds so damn sweet on excelleration.

 

Can you get a sound clip of your exhaust? And I don't mean set a camera behind the tail pipe and start blasting your engine. Have someone film you driving or something. please

 

Do you think a resenator with an aftermarket muffler will work well?
