Service advice
My Crossfire is due it's 5 year service in a couple of months and I was looking for some advice on what should get done.
It,s only got 18,000 miles on it but according to the service book at 5 years or 100,000 miles it should get the spark plugs changed.
I never got the fuel filter done last year so I am going to get that done and I fitted new air filters last year when it got an A service.
I think the coolant gets done at 5 years as well can someone tell me what coolant should be used as I understand it's long life coolant.
Any advice is as always appreciated.
Cheers.
Norrie.

I am not sure about most of the question you posed. However, I have done research into the coolant before. I moved upto Chicago from Houston (where I bought my car) and wanted to make sure nothing was going to freeze. So after having the coolant checked it turns out it is what is considered by many to be the best in the business. Forget the actual name, but from my understanding has what is called dex-cool, which is some component that blah blah etc etc etc...good.
Also, for the coolant it is also my understanding that coolant doesn't need to be replaced until minimum of 75k miles or even 100k miles.
I don't know how the '5 year/100k mile' thing will affec that, but that's just what I know from talking to a mechanic. Keep us informed on everything that you get done with prices and whether it was worth it or not.

I, personally, would not replace the spark plugs at 18k miles. Keep in mind that with average driving, a 5 year old car would have 50-60k on it. That's a lot more spark plug firings an wear than you incurred. If they were worn or faulty, I would expect CELs errors. That's what my Audi does when it misfires.
Otherwise air, gas, and cabin filters is all that i would change. I believe fluids are good for 100k miles, but you should check the maintenance manual to be sure.

The only thing I recommend and did myself was change the antifreeze because of the aluminum block. It's not Dex, like VQ35DE stated that is for GM products. Chrysler uses Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT) antifreeze and I only know of two sources, Chrysler and Zerex G-05. I bought the Zerex G-05 from Napa for around $12 a gallon and then diluted 1/3 with distilled water for maximum protection. I agree with Goldwing and wouldn't recommend changing the plugs, Other titems you might consider:
- Cabin filter - changed my last year at 17K
- Air Filters - haven't changed mine yet they are still clean after 19K
