Navigation Voice?
She speaks with a British accent right now? Just learning how to use the Nav system today....goes to body shop tomorrow....Wilma got her first compliment from a stranger at a grocery store a couple of hours ago....wife smiled!
OK, it's the OPT hardkey, then the TP multifunction key.......then you will only hear the Traffic announcements & the Navigation announcements. To go back to hearing the radio or CD.....just hit the TP button again.
I kinda like the NAV system & wish it was in my '07 also.

You can also go into a sub menu from the audio button. Hold the audio button for several seconds and it will take you to another menu and from there you have several choices to chose from one of them being the nav, mixed w/radio or just nav and there is one other selction I don't recall right now.

Click here Crossfire SRT6 Documentation Collection then copy the nav manual. I have a copy of the manual that came with the radio but I also have a copy saved on my computer.

Some good advice follows.
Forget about anything to do with the kindergarten Nav system Chrysler installed in our cars--and to think they asked $1200 for this nearly worthless option!
Go to Costco (online) or Sam's Club and pay $200 for a Garmin 750. It accepts all of the latest in gadgets: iPOD, mem cards, Bluetooth etc and has a real MAP display included.
I prefer Garmin over Magellan because Magellan's tech support comes from India. They always want to argue and deny their unit could be defective. I tired of it! I recently retired two Magellan's needing $100 updates in favor of newer Garmin units that had the new updates installed or was available online for free.
We have 4 cars and 3 Garmin GPS so that means I shuttle the Garmin c550, with bean bag mount, from Crossfire to Crossfire. It's a quick and easy transfer and gives you a scant bit more windshield to see out of.
You will not be sorry if you follow my advice. You will likely learn some new curse words if you stick with the OEM Nav system.

I don't agree with Cheap Ride at all. Who needs all that crap in their car? Ipod? I don't own one. I do have a Zune, but I only use it for video so I can watch Top/Fifth Gear on long flights. Memory cards? For what? Blue tooth? I drive a sports car, why do I need to be talking to anyone during a drive? And during those times when it's unavoidable, true bluetooth over the speakers in the crossfire would be more trouble than it's worth. I'd rather use an ear piece.
I've used the OEM nav a handful of times and only once did it let me down and that was when a street I needed wasn't on the Cd. Though it did save my rear once when I absolutely needed to be somewhere but I didn't trust the nav system to get me there so I used map quest. The directions looked good until they didn't get me where I needed to go and ended up getting lost. The oem nav got me on my way with no problem.
If you're the type of person who needs gadgety stuff with big screens, then yeah, the oem system will certainly disappoint. I will admit that I was initially disappointed because it didn't look as cool as the more modern systems. I got over it when I realized it actually works!

Sorry that you misinterpret me. I have none of the new peripherals either. I merely point out the Garmin 750 is set up to handle them should you be a techie! It's no reason to badmouth a great system with all of the latest updates and the map feature or compare it to the kindergarten OEM system in my Gold Crossfire. Surely you can't deny that $200 is a great price for a user-friendly Nav system that has it all! No 108 page manual either. No need to wish for updated disks to the Crossfire system, the Garmins's already have the updates installed or are available for free online.

I just got an email from an online boating store I have used many times. They have refubished Garmin nuvi 660's for $179.83. I should add that they have several other refurb models listed in the Electronics Section, all great deals. Try reaching them at: www.boatfix.com or 603-856-8441 x 252.
At this price I am considering buying one so I won't have to transfer the Garmin c550 from the red to gold Crossfire.
