Crossfire hooliganism!
My XFs don't see snow, but the first snowfall every winter I find an unplowed parking lot and practice bringing my car out of a slide by steering into the slide. It's counter-intuitive but the only way to straighten it out. Now that my kids are driving, I have them do the same thing. It's a lot tougher to do with a FWD (and almost unnecessary with an Audi AWD with ESP/ABS).

This is also the first time I've ever owned a RWD car have been able to do donuts and generally act juvenille with such a vehicle!
I highly recommend all owners go find an empty parking lot and have some fun.

But worth the effort.
My thoughts on this picture are:
Why isn't it in a calendar.
Awesome picture that says it all.
Crossfires are a blast.
Drive one and be a teenager every day.

Looked like fun.......Had snow last yr but I pampered the 6... now in the Stang 2yrs ago I did this....unfortunately it was in traffic.....round n round I went in middle of intersection. I corrected it so smoothly that it looked like planned fun!
Curses, foiled again! My plans to burn out my old Michelin PS Sports on way to get new tires installed didn't pan out!
New tires are so different - went for the Michelin PS All Weather. I drove it 4 miles home and haven't been behind wheel since...got a seminar on Tuesday in Somerset, KY. Will have chance to open up on Cumberland Pky. maybe!
No burn out pics.

Reminds me of being a kid in the 70's. My big brother would get home after drinking and duct tape me to the back of his pick up and then do donuts in the snow. Sucked that one time the police tried to stop him and he tried to evade....never screamed so loud in my life
GoldWing,
We lived in Michigan for many years and did the same thing. Had to teach my daughter to do the same.
Live outside of Washington D.C. now. At the first sign of snow these guys shut down the schools and run to the grocery store the night before. I always get a laugh out of this panic over 1-2 inches.
The first winter I worked here they had about 3 inch "snow storm". I drove into work to find that I was the only one in my dept. that made it. After this they nicknamed me the mad man from Michigan.
Enjoy the winter

The Texas Motor Speedway has an area of its infield that they hose down with a lot of water, then have people drive on to learn how to handle a vehicle in hydroplaning conditions. I thought it was a great idea, too. They described it during the tour of the track - not sure if it is open to the public or only as a part of a defensive driving course...
See about 4 Michigan people in the posts. I can confirm that that's standard operating procedure having grown up there. Trouble is, it doesn't matter if you intend to do it or if you're just driving home.
True story on Michigan. Driving friend home in his '67 Cougar w/390. He's two sheet to the wind, and that's why I'm driving. Lost it on a snowey empty 5 lane due to three overcorrections. In the middle of the second 360, Jim opened his eyes and said "What the ....." I said, "Don't worry, everything's under control." Jim put his head back down. Cougar caught a driveway, spun across two front lawns, came down on a side street entering the road I had been on. Stopped spinning and moving right at the stop sign to enter back onto the road and facing in the right direction to turn onto the road. Jim opened his eyes again. "Are we home?"

I liked the story Vegas told brought back some memories.
Most people from the midwest have stories related to snow and driving. I always got a kick out of the news, when someone out ice fishing had their SUV break through the ice and sink!
Go Blue,
