A STRANGE FIND... possible error in owners manual
My side mirrors stopped working so I decided to check the fuse. The owners manual said it was a blue 15 amp in compartment 6 (fuse box located in the engine on driver side). In compartment 6 I found a beige 5 AMP. It was clearly blown and I assume the source of my problem. Could that be a mistake in the manual? Could the dealer at some point have replaced it with the wrong fuse? Would you guys replace it with another 5 amp or use a 15? Weird!
Graphic on the cover said compartment #6 was right and left side mirror. I don't think it had any amps listed. I will have to check again. Any thoughts on if I should replace the 5AMP or get the 15 AMP as stated in the owners manual.

Sorry I am behind today so cannot do the homework but you can download that manual and look it up
I would go with the owners manual. I would think the motors in the mirrors would not draw more than 5amps unless the mirror is at it's adjustable limit and the motor gets into a bind but thats just my thoughts.

Fuse code
Beige=5amp
Red= 10amp
Blue=15 amp
Yellow =20 amp
Green=30 amp
Orange=40 amp

Without even knowing the amp rating of the motors , it would be a safe guess that the 5 AMP fuse is more likely the correct one. 12 Volt motors use high amperages, but 15 is overboard.
If it is a short, a 15 Amp will blow anyway. If it is just a bad motor, replacing the 5 amp with a 15 won't solve the problem. You could try it and see first.
I would still suggest it is a 5 Amp fuse in that application. I checked mine and it is a 5 AMP. Mine is in compartment 36, not 6. Page 240 in my 06 roadster manual.

FYI there is a fuse panel on the left of the steering wheel when you open the door, could be two fuse locations. Weird has happened, Woody

Looks like the fuses have fuses
I didn't check my actual manual. I used the online manual which was for a 2004 crossfire. I have a 2005 base coupe.
I suspect everything works as it should and there isn't a problem. I used a wet paper towel (not dripping wet--more damp) and wiped around the control. I then went to operate the mirror and it moved for a second and stoped. I assumed it got wet and blew the fuse. I eyeballed a few fuses and everything looked ok. I pulled out compartment 6 (which I assumed was for the mirrors) and it is a 5 AMP. It is toasted! I am guessing replacing the fuse will fix my problem. But now everyone is showing different compartments in their owners manual. Which one is correct?

Should be the one you first mentioned drivers side under hood!

5 amp. in cavity #6 for the coupe
5 amp. in cavity #36 for the roadster
This is in the accessory fuse block under the hood on the drivers side.

Thanks Bill. I started to worry when I heard people talking about different locations. Mine is the coupe so it is #6! I am going to pick up some new fuses at the store. Someone told me that Walgreens (a drug store) sells them. I may stop there first because it is more convenient.

In that same fuse block there are a few spares but I have no idea what the amp rating is on them.

I can't figure out why they put all those fuses in the engine. I would prefer them all inside the cabin where it is safe from possible rain or moisture. Am I wrong?

"Best engineered cars in the world" !?! yet Diamler is often old and fuddy.

Keep in mind that some cars may not have heated left and right mirrors. I think that changes the fuse rating. The manual for the 2004 Coupe says 15 amp blue fuse in the underhood fuse panel slot 6. That car has heated mirrors.
