newbie from mass
My last car was an 02 eclipse gt, the two cars are night and day as far as power goes. I am wondering are these cars as hard to modify as my old eclipse. On that car the ecu was a nightmare to make more power. I love this car, and i am planning on many tvt upgrades.
Welcome to the forum, Carlos.
You are going to love this site; lots of good people and the best XF resource anywhere!
Lots of mod possibilities, but they tend to be a bit pricey since these cars are mostly Mercedes under the skin. Keep an eye out for group buys. A cold air intake and good rubber were my first mods.
There are several places where the ECU can be sent for a reflash; not difficult, just a few days downtime for shipping.
If you have an NA XF, TVT does offer some nice packages, and they are quite active on this forum.
If you have an SRT, there are several shops that can help meet your needs.

i have a n/a xf. i am not looking for big power gaines, jus twant to be able to keep up with the 350zs and 06 and up eclipse gts. The xfires may lack the power of those cars, but i think its a much much better car.
Welcome to the forum. Where abouts in Mass. are you from? We have a large group of owners that get together often, check us out in the New England section.

We gripe about trouble finding a good mechanic and a poorly designed cup holder;
they gripe about . . . well, just check their forums. I think you'll be REAL happy.
A few thoughts:
1. Make sure your rubber is good. Stock Michelins are good, but if you have the stock Conti's, you could do much better.
2. If you are over 15K miles, the steering stabilizer may need replaced; this is cheap and easy, and will tighten up the handling.
3. You can get rid of some door rattle, and clean up the sound of the stock stereo with a pair of cheap capacitors. This makes a filter that prevents the midrange door speakers from trying to reproduce low freq's that they were not designed to handle.
