just realized.. you got it used... hmmm ask person you bought it from.... if not, check EBAY.
cup holders some of us use the plastic clip-ons to the glove box...
but after a while... i prefer not to drink in the XF because it is prone to spilling often!!!
take care,

For cupholders try http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/
We bought the plastic flip-up ones shown on the left margin and have been very happy with them. We mounted them low on the transmission tunnel. You might think they would get in the way of your leg but even with a tall drink your knee fits well over the top. Be sure to put them just ahead of the closest seat position used because the seat will tear them up if you don't. The metal ones shown look like they would work well too.

There is also an experimental metal version called "Ultimate Cupholder II" from the same supplier at

It fits flush with the floor and attaches to the carpeted tunnel with long metal pins. I have been using it for over a year -- it works perfectly, never spills, and is very well made. Here's part of an email I received from the supplier when I first asked about it for the Crossfire last April:

"You might also take a look here: http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ucii.html That's a quick-and-dirty page that shows a new version that I've not yet made generally available that works in just about anything assuming that the side of the tunnel is relatively vertical and the floor generally flat. Basically the same idea as the original versions, but uses a different mounting approach that eliminates the dependency on the height. That might be a better way to go since it's more adaptable. Functionally they're basically the same and I think it looks a little nicer. Price is the same as the originals. No color selection for these at this time - they're all brushed stainless with black rubber trim."
I don't know why this product is not specifically listed on the current web page, but the links above are still active and will give you an idea of how this ingenious solution works.
IMHO those cup holders make the car look cheap... but then maybe it's more function than form... i don't need a cup holder... water bottles store well in the console storage --- soda's bad for u anyway as is fast food --- =P
XFire's new tagline --- "will make you eat (well, drink at least) more healthily..." =)

NOW I KNOW MY cupholder IS BUTT UGLY!... BUT IT ACTUALLY GOVERNS MY RIDE AS MY XF IS PRONE TO SPILLS... SO... WHEN CUP IS FINISHED ... UP GOES THE REAR SPOILER.
Just a little trivia, that probably everybody knows the answer to, but for those of you who don't.
What other "sports car" built by Mercedes came with its own custom made luggage?

I put it on the passenger side close to the seat (so it doesn't interfere with the passenger's feet) and can reach it easily and without the elbow gyrations required to use the stock cupholder. And if anything ever spills (nothing has yet), the liquid would go on the floor mat and not on the console or the seats. It's a good solution, given the physical parameters we have to work with in the cabin.
so you didn't put one on the driver's side?
