Default Race

I got my 6 speed xfire a few weeks ago for my first car. I was able to take it to a drag track near me over the weekend and raced an 02 corvette and won. I couldnt believe it but i got a 12.98 second 1/4 mile at 108. My xfire is stock and not an srt. I have no idea how this happend. Put some drag times you have set or heard of with an xfire so i can get an idea of what else to race. Thanks. Love the car!!!

Actually I did and I don't understand how. The car is totally stock the only thing is it had 95 octane gas which may help? I heard it did thats why i used it was very hard to find though. I did get a very good launch and the Vette spun his tires which slowed him down. But yes it was 12.98 second at 108 mph.

This has all the earmarks of becoming another "EPIC" thread.
I hope Paul (PSUPERTI) doesn't see it.

I think it has something to do with power to weight ratio.

hey man i think you should post up a time slip to prove every you are not full of ****. this is hilarious because you run faster 1/4 mile time on 200hp than car with 300hp do lol i bet it is the capacitor that you added that sends your car into warp speed and probably shave 1.8 seconds off your time and make you et like .8 plus with double clutching and disabling traction i can see you hitting 12.89. add a intercooler intake from ebay, some electric fans, new pulleys, and finish it off with TYPE_R stickers and NAWWSS stickers and you should be hitting high 10's

I really don't know how the car did it that fast. I have done the drag strip a few more times and gotten in the low to mid 14's once in the high 13's. I don't understand how the one was that fast the only thing I know is that i had 95 octane gas vs. the usual 93 and the traction control was off, and while shifting i kept it floored while on the clutch since i was about to have to replace it anyway. I have practiced speedshifting a lot and it helped. But I don't understand it and thats why I put this thread on here to see if anyone could figure out why.?

sorry, no matter what you say, what you tell us, we will not believe it.

stock srt-6's can't even run this. and we're talking supercharged 330HP motors, not n/a 215hp ones...

it is NOT possible

Is this a DOWNHILL dragstrip?
Were you racing across a aircraft carrier and using the catapult system?
Were you rear-ended at the starting line by a semi truck doing 80?

I know......you were drop-kicked by god!

Maybe you should try racing John Force.....YOU might have a chance (but only you)!

........ ............ ........

My only guess to why you saw a 12.98 pass was that something (ie a leaf or some sort of debris) blew and tripped the beam early. I could see a stock SRT6 run that in good weather and good driver, but definately not a stock N/A!! Did you buy the car used or new? Maybe the prior owner put a FI system on it.

Agreed...mixed timeslip...although later it is stated that there are 13 second runs also...which leads me to believe the clocks need to be calibrated or this is an 1/8 mile strip... A piece of debris would only be possible if there wasn't an associated speed...leaves don't move that fast

Short of an error on somebody's part, that's physically impossible. You'd need 100hp over stock, the tires are irrelevant.

I think I just figured it out! I got the car used its an 05' and I just got it a few weeks ago. I did some research on the car and on the vin number. After talking with Chrysler they were able to determine that this car was one of seven test cars used in 04 and 05 by Chrysler while tuning them for different things such as luxury, and performance. They said this is the car used as the Performance car by Chrysler. I don't really understand it but they say it has different parts and around 280 hp. They would not give specific details about what the parts are but they are powerful.
