Crossfire 55 AMG V8
Hi,
the Crossfire 55 AMG V8 is born. On the picture you will see an 5.5 V8 AMG engine inside an Crossfire that I set up in the last weeks. The car drive and all mechanical/electrical stuff is done and works well.
regards from Germany
Max.

Also provide the details of how you did this engine swap; the problems and solutions. There's a member who has been planning to this type of V8 engine swap for a long time (even purchased a motor) and I'm sure your experience would help out.
Do you have any leg room in your car? JOKE!
That really looks like a tight fit!!!
Did you lower the engine in? or lower the car onto ther engine?
Man you should just do a write up on the project!
Or ship your car to the US! and I will pay for you a flight on priceline.com

Hi boys,
I'm afraid
the engine cover on the photo is not a V8 engine one, it's like a C36 AMG which is not a V8.
I'm sorry, but it seems to be a fake Grrrr
.
Keep your serious boy, we don't have time for laugh, will get big smile when real swap will be done with real photo.
I invite you on this thread, I'm posting new pics : https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...014#post366014

you couldn't be more wrong...
Same car - different picture - just count the ignition coils:
Now lets just wait until Max gets back here before making wrong assumptions. He's probably pretty busy answering to the many questions in the various boards he posted this news.

I'm in awe! At first I thought it wasn't real. I guess they have many more MBZ resources and experience in these transplants.
Das rocks!

Looks like a V8 to me. the C36 is a straight six. The engine cover looks like C43 AMG V8 but that cover may have been used on early 55's as well, or it could have been a ML55 engine with a C43 engine cover. also look how close the the front cylinders are to the fan shrowd. Aslo look at the fan shroud which looks just like the one in the Startech V8 and not OEM Crossfire. I can also see the oil cooler on the filter housing which is unique to AMG engines. It's legit IMO. I hope he puts something up on You tube.
