New Center Console and Gauge Cluster
We did this for a customer and have finally finished it, we are almost ready to ship out. This project from a fabrication stand point was probably the largest undertaking we have ever taken on. From a stand point of mass production, OUT THE WINDOW, as far as making these affordable, OUT THE WINDOW. If these were completely one off and we had your car to work on for a month this would be possible to build, but it is not coming out once it is in. I can’t even tell you how much time, money and effort was put into this. After 3 paint jobs, close to 80 hours, an install kit, and fabricating a bracket we just about broke even with a price tag of over 1k. Lol let’s put it this way we thought we had all the bases covered but we were in for so many more treats. The most difficult part was making this so someone else can easily install it. This part makes it almost impossible and that is where most of the time and effort went into. We are very please with the outcome but after a string of flaky painters I feel like the paint work could have been better. No one wants to touch a hand fabricated project when you tell them what it cost to replace. I completly understand when 5 feet away they have a benz with front end damage that an insurance company cutting a 20k check to fix.... You get the picture.
So as far as getting close to the $600 mark FAIL.... As far as actually replicating and making a center with the buttons under navi SUCCESS.
Side note if you are asking yourself what those three circles are, that is the new gauge cluster, It is awesome really it looks amazing with all the gauges in it. Rudy figured he mostly leaves the controls on defrost why not.... We he was right it worked.
