Default A new member after some advice!

I have just joined the forum this morning (GMT) and have spent some time looking at the various posts – all very interesting. We (my wife and I) are about to buy a 2nd hand Crossfire. We tested the first one yesterday and would welcome any tips/advice/suggestions on things that we should be on the lookout for. We are aiming at a 2006 coupe and we are in the UK (England). Thanks.

After reading a few posts from members in the UK I note that the first thing you should look for is someone who can service the car. Apparently, dealers over there don't have the first clue and Benz dealers won't touch the car. So, make sure you have a reliable tech. Seems to take awhile to get parts too.

Welcome to the forum and good luck on your quest. Use the search feature at the top of the page as this has been disgusted numerous times, door rust, manual tranny shifting, headlight lenses.......etc.

Welcome. Your at the right place. There is a program called Autotrader filmed somewhere in England. it comes on HGTV here in the States. The guy who is the host is also the owner of the Auto dealership the show is based on. If I had to buy a car or ask about a specific model it would be from this guy. Honest, knowledgeable, and a cool guy. He may be near where you live in England. Are you familiar with the show.

Thanks Glockhit – the cars that we are looking at have all been found via the Autotrader website – they are pretty big in the UK.

Thanks Stogey – I will give the search a try. We just got back from checking out a red coupe with 34K on the clock, but it was producing some very visible exhaust fumes that really put us off.

Most definetly if it's puffing smoke ........ an egg smell could be that it belonged to a Blue Haired Lil Ole Lady from Pasadena that only drove from home to church and to the grocery store on Sunday afternoons. But with 34K on the clock, anybody's guess !
My apologies if I offend any Blue Haired Lil Ole Ladies out there !
Good huntin !
