The attention of a car 3x the price
I've had people shout across parking lots, "Nice car!" "Awesome car!" "Very cool car!" I've been approached with all sorts of questions at the gas pump. Most recently, I was asked by a young man who brought our food to the car, "How much did you pay for this car, about 100-thousand?" It's fun to see the look on their face when I tell them how much (or how little) they cost.
Since the Crossfire first came out, I have been baffled by the lack of interest in it (based on sales). I'm starting to wonder if the problem is that Chrysler under-priced it. Its exotic styling probably has people assuming it is way out of their price range and so they don't bother to shop for one. Or maybe it's just because it only has two seats. It still has to be one of the best used car bargains on the planet, and one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

I drove a Fiero GT for 8+ years and it never got anywhere near the attention the Xfire does.
I believe the looks of the Xfire car alone has done a much better marketing job than Chrysler ever did.
240 z 260z 280zx theres plenty, but i must say the crossfire is superior,
just bought my first 1 2005 limited from a 1 owner with 21,212 miles and
this is 1 sweet ride and bought it very cheap only paid 10,600.00 and the

Hey now, I wasn't naming cars that I thought were comparable, I was just asked to name some 2-seaters that sold more than 50,000 units!
Didn't think about the Z cars.
Good point.

yeah i couldnt resist throwing the z cars, actually owned a 280zx with a aftermarket twin turbo about 15 yrs ago that was a smoking ride, that is what actually got me looking at the crossfire, starting walking down memory
lane and now im a owner of a killer xfire. must be the midlife crisis.

Haha, yeah i've had countless people stop me in the middle of traffic to ask me questions about my Crossfire. Everybody seems to like it. The car looks very high end European, if you know what I mean. I dont' mind, I agree haha!! And I love the fact that the car is so rare. I was reading an article, i forgot where, and it said the Crossfire was Chrysler's best kept secret. Anybody know what they meant by that?

Cadillac Allante 7 year production was 21k.
Buick Reatta, total production 21,751.
Ford New T-Bird was 67,518 (even though they said they weren't planning on building more than 55k originally.
Viper's 16 year production was only 25,000.
Ford GT, a miniscule 4038.
With the Crossfire's production ending at around 76k, the Crossfire did better than any of them. Of course "give away" pricing helped.
It still "looks" like a million.

I was at my nephew's high school graduation party last week. Lots of graduates at the party along with the a big part of the family. I had the Crossfire in the driveway and my wife's uncle pulls in behind me with his newer Boxter. Can you guess which car got the most attention from the young crowd? Most never gave a second look at the Boxter, but a number of them wanted to sit in the Crossfire. Luckily it was blocked in

I figured the Vette was a given.
I left out the Fiero because it was originally billed as a "commuter car". By the end of its production run, it had morphed into a pretty fair mid-engined "sports" car. But since so many had been produced, (and they were everywhere) that it was pretty much ignored by most car enthusists.
Being an expensive 2-seater definitely limits your buying audiance, for sure. (But then "we've" known that for years, haven't we Jim)?
Without a doubt we have a pretty excusive car. But how exclusive? Does anyone have the total number of XFs sold in America?? And how would that compare to the original Audi TT, another very unique car.
