Default Considering a Crossfire. Opinions?

Hey guys, I've been reading some of the threads off and on for a while now, but this is my first post.

Here's my predicament - I currently own a 1998 Jeep Wrangler with a 2.5" lift and 33" tires. It's a lot of fun and I love the thing to death, but I'd like to have something quicker and that gets better gas mileage. Also something that would be a little quieter on the highway.

I've always liked the Crossfire, and my dad had one for about a year right when they came out. If I got one it would be a DD. What do you guys think? I've seen some Crossfire's on AutoTrader for pretty cheap and think I could do a pretty even trade for one.

I'm not sure what you mean by the term "If I got one it would be a DD", but if you can - Go For It!. they're great little cars. Will get decent MPG on the highway and can handle corners like it's glued to the road. BTW- welcome to the Forum.

Welcome aboard. Where are you located first of all? A lifted jeep with mudders is going to do a little better than an XF in the snow, but I drive mine year round here in Indiana.

Also, a pretty even trade?????? I am not trying to be an a$$, but a 12 model year old jeep wrangler trading even for a (at the oldest) 2004 XF? I know they hold their values a lot better than our cars, but that must be one hell of a jeep LOL

Look around, feel free to ask questions, there are a lot of helpful folks around here....

I live in Northern Virginia, right outside of D.C. I know the Jeep would do better in snow, but down in Norfolk where I go to school they never see snow, and back up home the snow usually doesn't get too bad. Worse case scenario I could drive my mom's Hyundai Tucson

As far as the straight trade goes, I could sell my Jeep for around $10,000, maybe even more in the summer, and I've seen Crossfires on AutoTrader selling used for about $12,000 at dealers. I figure with some coaxing I could talk a dealer down enough.

These are decent DD cars provided you can do without the space. I'm coming up on a year in my crossfire.
