Question Key Fob programming for door locks

Hi,

I need a little help from my Crossfire friends...

I know this was discussed before, and I did a search...but could not find it.

Can someone tell me how to program my Key Fob so that BOTH doors open and lock at the same time with one push of the button? Right now, when I hit the Key Fob button to open the doors, only the driver door opens on thr first push. You need to push a second time to open the passenger door.

Thanks

BRappaport

Press both lock and unlock buttons at the same time and hold them down until the red light at the top of the key fob blinks.

BUMP!

Just wanted to bump this as some of the attendees at the CAA GTG weren't aware of this procedure.

Press and hold both buttons on the key remote until the light (red lens at top of key fob) blinks twice. Now when you press the open button both doors and trunk will open with one push instead of two!

Repeat procedure to go back to two presses to open passenger door and trunk (why??)

Ditto Thanx. My wife is going to LOVE this! It has been awkward for us to run through the rain and get to the car and find MY door is open and she's getting re-baptized!
Thanx again!

I spend entirely too much time here to not be aware of this. Were you trying to hide it from us black car owners???

Nope. Just figured that BLACK Crossfire owners wouldn't need this info since most people wouldn't consider riding in a BLACK XF!

Hey Hey, keep your retorts aimed at John hahahaha. I resent you thinking no one wanting to ride with me since mine was black... That has only happened a few times, and she wan't that cute anyways.

Haha. Glad I knew this, Oh wait FOBs aren't working anyways no matter how many times I replace the batteries. Don't feel like shelling out $100/each for new ones yet. Its ok, but I'll re-file this information in the long term area of my brain. It doesn't get used often anyways.

I tried pushing both buttons at same time, waited for red light to blink twice like everyone said, and then tried it. Nothing! Any suggestions?. P.S. The batteries in it are brand new..Thanks!

Found on the forum a way to program it that worked for me!

The Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter(s) can be programmed by the customer without special tools.
PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE

Transmitter programming by the customer is done by performing the following steps:
  1. Insert the key into the ignition switch.
  2. Press either the lock or unlock button momentarily twice.
Turn the key in the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position within 30 seconds.

Hope this is useful and saves you $100.

I've come to rely on this forum to find answers to my questions. This is the first time I stumbled on an answer to a question I hadn't even thought of. I had no idea that the fob could be reprogrammed so that a single push would unlock everything. Cool - Thanks.

Did you also know that even if you don't have the fancy single push top up/down switch, that you can raise and lower both windows fully by pressing the top switch in either direction one quick time, followed immediately by another push ?
( I see that you have a roadster, this does not apply to coupes - as they don't have the magical top switch )

Yes I did know that but thanks for pointing it out anyway. And one of the first things I did when I got the car was to order the new switch module.

Maybe the pump in the trunk is not working or an air/vacuum line is broken.

Are you pushing the lock/unlock button on the center console or the key fob?
