Default Re set miles on the dash

I was wondering how you reset the miles after changing the oil?
Thanks

This is the fss reset procedure,
The button to push is lower left of speedo.
Good luck.

1. Turn key to the ON/RUN position.
2. Within one second press the ****/button twice.
3. The present status for days or distance is displayed.
Within 10 seconds turn the key to OFF/
LOCK.
4. Press and hold the ****/button, while turning
the key to ON/RUN again. The present status for
days or distance is displayed once more. Continue
to hold the ****/button.
After approximately 10 seconds, a signal sounds and
the display shows 7,000 miles (Canada: 11,000 km) for
approximately 10 seconds.
5. Release the ****/button.

When you do the above make sure that you turn past the accessory position to the on position (but not all the way to start). In the accessory position you will see the display and this may make you think that you turned the key far enough - the "dummy" lights need to come on to be in the on positon. Also the above is very sensitive to following the time limits.

This procedure is tricky... took me a long time to get it down correct! My advice... just keep trying and it will eventually work.

lol guess I need to keep trying! Got my oil changed at mercedes for 104.00 plus tax, they even washed her! Tried this procedure........ cant get the wrench and number of days to come off when I start it up. Above that the miles are back to 000.00 but when I start up my car everytime the wrench is back up. ILL keep trying until I get it right.

Just keep trying and it will eventually work. I don't know why they had to make this so difficult.

That's a pretty good deal from the dealer. Keep plugging away at it and you will get it. It took me about five minutes of fiddling around after my last oil change, but I got it to reset properly.

Resetting your FSS should of been SOP for the stealership when they did your service. That is IF they know how to do it . - . and IF they actually put eight quarts of Mobil1 oil in your car. For that price, I'd check the dip stick.
