Single SideBand - a form of AM modulation where one sideband and the carrier wave is eliminated before amplification and transmission.
PROS: This makes the transmitter more efficient and requires less than 1/2 the spectrum width of an AM wave, meaning we can squeeze users into the existing radio spectrum.
CONS: Transmitters and receivers are much more complicated, and precise tuning is required to achieve good audio quality. Oh, and audio quality is never as good as in conventional AM.
Around here:
Sapphire Silver Blue: a color of Crossfire that isn't Blue and isn't Silver. (Or it is that it IS both Silver and Blue at the same time?) Probably the most common color of Crossfire, hence, it gets it's own abbreviation.
It should be noted that you cannot get a lawn mower to match this color ... so get a Red Crossfire and have the garage coordination I have!

SSB stands for "Should Search Before" posting questions!
I'm relatively new to the forum, but the search tool has proved invaluable.
90% of the questions posted to the forum, especially those with the preamble "New member question.." can be answered by a quick search.
