Default 5W-40 = new recommendation?

I just spoke with the service departments at 2 different Chrysler dealerships & they both said 5W-40 Mobil 1 Synthetic is now the recommended oil for Crossfires & that the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty would not be affected. Can anyone else verify this from your local dealership?

It depends on the dealership if you ask me. I called mine and was told they only use Quaker State Synthetic. I also asked if it was 0W-40 and was assured it was due to spec.

Cheaper just to buy your own. You can find Mobil 1 0W-40 at an autozone for $6.99/qt.

I just called the local MB dealership & they said MB has never told them anything but M 1 0w-40.

I then called the # on a bottle of M1 0w-40 & they said no....use M1 0W 40.

All this after calling 2 Chrysler dealerships & they said Quaker State 5-40 now!!!
