Default Pls! Hints When Buying Crossfire! New Forum User!

Hi everyone!
Nice looking forum you got here!
I am looking into buying a crossfire (see link for photos)

Chrysler Crossfire | Stockholm | Blocket

I am wondering what I should look out for?
Are there any common faults?
Any things I should listen for while testdriving?
What gadgets / things like rear wing or windscreenvipers should be checked?
pls advise!

Kind regards,

Philip from Sweden

Automatisk - I'm gonna remember that! (Sigline edited!)

Anyway, don't EVER buy white - too hard to keep clean and the other colors go faster.

Actually, white is one of the easiest colors to keep clean looking. Nice looking Xfire!

White looks great accorging to me though. Great camoflage up in the arctic climate here in Sweden. This is not really a car you need to drive fast. Ludacris have a song call "5 miles an hour so every one sees ya". The design speaks for itself. There will always be a faster car, nevertheless I think this one looks great!!!
Any REAL hints on technical / before buying advise ? except for colour...

Sure I can. WINTER TYRES. It is just so you can see how the alloys will look like while driving during while the polar bears have gone into hybernation.

I will let more experienced owners speak about what to look for. As far as I know, there are no outstanding issues to be cautious of in the non-SRT Crossfire.

There really are no known things that you should look for. Our cars DO have a "myserty no start issue" that has turned out to be a bad solder connection on the RCM - but nothing to worrry about.

I'd look at the tires and see if I should plan on new tires soon. These cars don't get a LOT of miles out of thier tires. Did it just get tires, or should you plan on dropping $800 to $1000 soon? Keep that in mind.

Look for leaks where the car was sitting - have been some issues with fluid leaks -but most seem to be simple fixes.

I have owned mine for 3 1/2 months and have read every post here - and nothing is jumping out at me.

Oh, GET THE VIN and do a "CARFACTS" report on the car. See where it has been, look for damage or insurance claim history - you should do that with any used car purchase.

Please use the search function and you will find 10's if not hundreds of threads that answer your EXACT question. Not to be rude, welcome to the forum, but we get at least one person asking this same thing EVERY week. I should know because I came on and asked the same thing LOL

Good luck.

Hello Phillip, welcome to the forum. Most of the "Stickys" at the top of each section will answer most of the questions you have. The biggest one on the older XFires is "Rust". Check the bottom of each door, there are drain holes, if you see brown have it checked out by an autobody repair or you can do it your self by following the advice in the thread. Good luck and many smiles.
