Default RCM issue and warranty

Hi guys! I asked questions regading on RCM before and a lot of you guys helped me a lot. But when I brought my car to the service dept, they said I need new battery. So I had them replace the battery and car was running real good for about a month. But now, it won't start again. I am trying to find out if RCM will be covered under extended warranty I purchased so I called extended warranty department. I gave them the part number and they could not pull up anything and they don't know what relay control module is. What they did told me though is if it's "multi function relay module", it will be covered under warrantu but if it's "power distributuion relay", it will not be covered under warranty. They told me to take the car to the dealership and have them diagnos my car. But I do not want to do that since I have to pay them to do that since my original warranty has expired. So my question is, this relay control module.... what's the real name or proper name for this part???

also, the part number that's floating around in this forum seems to be Mercedes part number. Does anyone actually have Chrysler part number???
Thanks in advance.

I saw that thread already tighed1... though it's great thread with great information, I am not to mechanical to fix things on my own... not only that, I do not have tools to fix it myself.... sad, I know.... so I am just trying to find out if it will be covered under warranty or not... and I already pay for extended warranty so if it does get covered, why not use it for something I alread paid.

I am in MA...western MA to be exact. I don't have problem driving to RI or NH if someone can do it for me. But I don't think there are too many members from MA area

It really IS a good idea to disconnect the battery - that way, no accidents can occur.

If you have any friend who can solder and knows their way around things electronic, they can easily resolder it for you.

(And this sillyness about which module is covered and why irritates me. Shows how extended warrantys are NOT the same as the factory warranty, doesnt' it? )

Sure wish I was closer, I"d be happy to help! If you can do without the car for a week or so, take the module out and ship it to me or tighed1 and we'll resolder it!

I didn't disconnect the battery but said that to keep others out of trouble.

I'd love to look it over (RCM) to compare it with the others that I have seen so far. Of course I'd gladly fix it for ya. Gotta be cheaper to send it to me than paying the deductible for the warranty. Pay for next day shipping both ways and the car will only be down a few days.

Let me know. I'm gonna PM you my number in case you wanta talk about this problem.
