I don't think it would be an issue with the trans actually. They seem to be able to handle a lot of abuse, so I'm guessing they were built pretty solid, excluding the second gear shifting problem everyone seems to have.

I think the biggest issue with this add-on s/c would be engine tolerances. Does anyone know if the engine could even handle the stress?

Sooooo, are you guys ready for the cost to replace the internals on the N/A engine? Oh, not to mention the electronics?

There's a SRT for sale on Autotrader for under 20K. Unless you have money to throw away AND a whole bunch-o-time to waste it's the better route to go.

Main reason why I'm not bothering to do it. I would like some extra horses for my Crossfire just like anyone else here, but I'm not willing to dump over $10,000 to find out if my engine could even handle being an engine with that thing strapped to it. It has to cause some extra wear and tear whether or not the engine can handle the stress, and you know, I like my warranty being valid. That little lifetime powertrain thing they tacked on could come in handy years down the road when I need some major work done.

being the type of company kleeman is youd think theyd put alot of time and thought into all the wear and tolerance questions you guys have asked. i read somewhere on a benz forum somone purchased this kit and absolutely loved it! so if i had the money i sure would dish it out! and dont give me the ol' buy an SRT crap because i want my 6spd. sure if you already have and auto Y not just buy srt? but woudnt it be cool to have FI 6spd?!

Why would you need any of the changes you are talking about if they aren't suggested by the tuner company. Kleeman has been around for some time and I think they would know what these motors can or can't handle. Plenty of other na cars can run boost with minimal or no internal changes. The key is the level of boost.

I do agree with you on one point though. If you have a na xf with an auto, why not just buy an srt6 to begin with. For some of us though, driving a sports car without a manual is a deal breaker.
