Default Scan Tool?

Does anyone know if this is a good scan tool?

Bottom-line pricing on Actron CP9180 at ToolTopia.com

Can someone who is knowlegable about such devices give me their impressions?
Thanks in advance, Smfry

I don't see why not if you only wanted to check for codes and erase them. decent price too.

I personally always used hand held tuners which were specifically for my cars and that way i tuned and checked for codes at the same time.

The one you posted looks like could get the job done.

Does anybody make hand held tuners for crossfires? if so, i would recommend those so if you add any kind of modification, you can change the tune and at the same time, it will serve as code detector / eraser.

I picked up an Innova 3130 off of Amazon when I blew a sensor out of my intake on the SRT6. It seems to work well, has a bunch of features, and was $139 if memory serves me. I have not had a reason to use it since, but it is comforting to have one around.

I have the Innova 3130 also and use it on the SRT's and the kids cars. Works great and has paid for itself.

I bought my CP9180 new for only $110. Check it out here:

I couldn't turn down such a low price...

There are some scanners that have blue-tooth connectivity and will display on your smart phone, palm, etc.

Example: http://scantool.imechatronics.com/el..._bluetooth.htm
