Natural cruising speed?
I have found that most cars tend to have a "natural cruising speed" -- the speed where they seem to want to cruise most of the time if the road is good, etc. The interesting thing for me is that my Crossifire's cruising speed seems to be going up as I do mod's -- for example, the most recent (larger MAF) has now found me cruising at 85mph instead of 80 on the same roads (the 101 on the north side of Scottsdale). The RS4 wants to do 75, and the 2003 M5 likes 80.
Anyone else have similar experiences?

My cruising totally depends on my mood and my crossfire likes pretty much any speed i feel like cruising
I say 70-75mph on the highway.
seriously, my xfrie is smooth as glass at 90-100mph. Today i thought i was doing the speed limit but when i was passing pretty much everyone, i realized i was doing 90mph LOL. no vibrations, shakes, etc.

it seems once you do a cold air intake regardless of which one, she breaths better and allows for better high end cruising. I just brought home my new addition, and it is totally stock, and I missed my dual needswings sounds, and accelleration...but she ran plenty good in the this cold air we have right now. It's in the teens...set the cruise at 80....not problem at all...I really like this coupe, its a little more quiet than the vert...should be fun moding this one next...
Doc,
Glad you got her home all safe and sound. Congrats again on getting such a pretty car!
Are you going to the shin dig in St Louis this year? I may try to plan that trip so I can meet some of you foriegners from the east!

Oledoc, congrats on the new addition.
Mine can cruise happily all day at anywhere between 55-90. It's me who enjoys the upper end....carefully. Last spring I drove from the Mac Bridge most of the way to SSM at 90-110. Didn't phase the roadster one bit and a blast (literally) with the top down in 40o weather.

that is what really sold me on this car...having had vettes and camaros forever it seems, this little car really feels comfortable at those higher cruising speeds...maybe it just the engine difference or being supercharged, but they are quiet and fast...camaros and vettes I had were a lot louder, more movement, comfortable, but not as smooth as the crossfire....you have to spend a lot of money to be this comfortable in most sports cars, porsche, lambos, etc....
