I started it all ? The young gun comes back and calls me ignorant after I question whether or not the Crossfire is a suitable car for his style of driving. Being as though he practically HATES everything about the car and has had issues with it since he bought it !!!

A lil word of advise to the young gun, don't wear your feelings out on your shirt sleeve and do a lil more research on what you're buying beside goin to an Enthusiast Site and askin a bunch of questions willing to take the word of those who would obviously give you a biased opinion ! Oh, BTW I have some land in southern Louisiana you may be interested in ........

Personally I don't think any NA Crossfire put's out enough power to warrant a LSD as long as you have a good set of rear tires. Simply because of our cars wide footprint.
From my experience with my 04 (that I purchased brand new, and driven 48k miles) and from what I've read here on the forum, the 04 models have a more sensitive, or more intrusive TC than the following years. Well at least mine did. The slightest sign of my rear tires losing traction, and my TC would shut my car down and put me into idle speed. Trust me, not much fun when traffic is closing in on you when you pull out from a side street and try to get out of everybody's way. After nearly getting me t-boned 3 different times the 1st. 3 years I owned the car, I said I had enough with "Big Brother" watching over me, and disconnected the middle wire going to the TC unit right in front of the battery. Yes it shuts the anti-locks off too, but I've never been a big fan of anti-lock brakes on several different GM products I've owned, and so far I haven't missed it on my Crossfire. Since my car is only driven in nice weather, it works for me.
I attended the 1st, two Fall "Tail of the Dragon" runs, and was able to hang with a few SRT's both times. But I will not argue the fact that some day disableing my TC may come back to bite me on the A$$, so I don't recommend anybody else do what I did, but I must say it made my car a lot more fun to drive.

why isn't this thread in the political side? To spin or not to spin...well, now you went and did it...now you have to listen to one of my true stories....just because no one is going to give and everyone is trying to get in the last word...so here goes. I am training a new rookie officer one night. I am sitting in the dark, but where I can watch a busy intersection where kids like to hang out. We had been getting complaints about their driving and the noise, etc. Sure enough this kid comes around the corner, car leaning, spinning his one tire. I light him up, we both get out of the car and I approach realizing I have a 16 yr old in an old escort. I ask for drivers license, registration, proof of insurance, the kid is shaking he is so nervous, and my rooky is standing on the opposite side. I ask him if he knew why I stopped him? He said for taking the corner too fast. I said no, that was NOT why I stopped him. He asked why. I said I stopped you for embarassing me in front of my new rooky officer. He looked dumb founded. I said here I am waiting for some muscle car to light'em up, and I get you. You obviously don't have enough motor to spin yours tires, so you have to take the corner really hard to get he one wheel to spin, you, my young friend are an embarassment. He apologizes. So, tonight you get a warning, but until you can afford a car that can "light'en up"...don't let me catch you embarassing me again...now go home and think about what I just told you...my rooky officer is now about in tears...the kid gets a break, my rooky learns how to give a break and have fun with the job. That kid is now a deputy sheriff and we get to talk about that traffic stop from time to time. Moral of this story, some cars can do it, some can't, live with it...

By contrast, I went on an Apple computer forum to ask about kernel panics on my Mac G5 Quad. All the responses suggested I buy a NEW Mac Pro ($3500+), and told me that my four year old computer was too old to fix! Thanks, that's the response I was looking for, not actual HELP!
But here, everyone is friendly. It's a community and we help each other. This forum has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs and helped make my ride run at top performance.
Rude comments are uncalled for and will not be tolerated. We stick together.
