I doubt he would mess with the speaker cover, it matches with the interior. If you can hook me up with one, you are the man

Guy sounds like a complete tool.
Was he ticketed?
Hate to see his insurance rates.

Just so I don't miss lead anyone, most of my data is taken from a road course. And the 350z's that run are highly modified and yes, some are faster than me. One has a Vortech supercharger putting out over 400 at the wheels. (I think he said 480) I got out run by a turbo 350z in the 1/4 mile but I beat all the rest. The latest M3's are fun. Lots of oversteer. Real fun to pass. (not easy but a sure thing if not modded) DONT TEXT AND DRIVE. You don't text and do other things that could take your life so ..... enough from me. I'm just talkative tonight.

The 2005 350Z cars (according to magazine road test) were running 14.1sec. and they only got faster after that. The best I ever saw in print for a 6 spd. XF was 14.7sec. and it never got any better than that.
So your friend is correct, the next time he'll be able to lose control even quicker in a Z.

350zs are 13 second cars stock. I have personally seen it. They are quicker than our Xfires and supposedly handles a lot better than our xfires as well but i do not know that.

My car is stock so i will get some stock drag racing times at the end of march or the beggining of april. I am hoping a 14.5 or quicker out of her. We will see.

From what i've heard for that you will need a tvt265 or 300. Then u can beat a z. Another question is shouldn't our performance be similar to an automatic BMW 128i? I found a video on YouTube and the z could barely get away from the automatic 128i. And if we are close to the 128i then we shouldn't be that fast behind the z

I would love to clear that up but around here, none of them will play with me.
I have the Eurocharged equivalent of a TVT300 tune putting 193+HP at the wheel thru a 6 spd on a rag top. Either the 350 Z's don't want to bother or they don't want to chance a spanking. I see no reason why they wouldn't be able to shut my cute little ole girlie car down but, they don't seem to want to try.

So I play with the Mustangs. GT V8's seem an even match untill we get to some twisties.

I would like to find a willing S2 spider to play with before I go to the Dragon. It would help to know how much I should hold back so they don't get lost on the trail behind me.

Defintely should not text and drive. This is something I have gotten out of the habit of doing.

Texting is a bad multi-task for anything. It could ruin your lif in many ways not just texting and driving.

Just imagine if you were being intimate with your lady friend and started texting. That would ruin a lot and risk your own life too.

Try going here... 20 dollars plus shipping. It will ship to you from a Chrsyler dealership somewhere in the US. Just put in your VIN number when ordering online. I ordered parts this way before and it is a great way to do it.

If they're 13 second cars why are you hoping for a 14.5?

A friend of mine used to have a 350Z and a bunch of his buddies came to the drag strip one weekend to hang out with us (a bunch of modded PT Cruiser turbos). The best any of them ran was 14.7 on what is an admittedly horribly prepared track. Still, I ran 14.4 in my PT that weekend and these guys were really upset.

When you've got a couple of cars that the magazines all show to be within a few tenths of each other, it all comes down to the driver. Spend some time at a "street legal" drags session and you'll be amazed at how poorly many people manage a simple straight line run. No matter how capable the car is, it's only as fast as the nut behind the wheel can make it go. I've seen plenty of "slower" cars beat "faster" cars due to the driver advantage. And you don't get to make excuses at a drag strip. First one through the traps wins, no matter how much faster the losing car is "supposed to be".

I don't have a Z, I meant 14.5 or quicker in my crossfire. I said Zs are 13 second cars.

I know you guys don't know me. I never look at magazine numbers and if you tell me magazines ran 15 second with my car, i am almost certain i or another decent driver can run a good ~half second quicker than that. I always have. I have personally witnessed 350zs running 13 sec stock.

People are running horrible times everyday at tracks and sadly others are thinking thats what the car is capable of. When I first took my 06 GT to track, NOBODY was running 13s with it. The best people were running was 14.1 and up (stock). then i jumped in, ran a 13.6 with a miss gear, they waved the worlds biggest BS flag and then i ran it again and ran a 13.43 stock, i had to run for cover because people were accusing me of spraying the car. the same deal with LS1 trans ams, most people are running mid-high 13s with them stock but the car is capable of 13 flat to 12.9 stock. (I ran a 12.98 in an 01 M6 T/A)

I have no sympathy for the driver of the totalled Crossfire. My friends brother was killed by another driver texting on a cell phone.

The punishment is not severe enough for these Imbeciles whose standard of driving falls short of despicable.

I've never understood texting anyway? Maybe for directions ? Isn't it a lot easier and maybe a tad bit safer to just talk to someone? Anyone texts me they get a phone call back. I just don't get it.

Trust me, when racing the driver is just as important as the car. A 350Z can be beat, heads up.

What makes you say that? I read a thread about xfire vs. mustang GT and couldnt believe how many people also said that they beat mustangs without problems. I was gonna bump it but i didn't. No matter how much you love your car, it will not change the truth, a stock Z > a stock xfire.

All I'm saying is the experience and skill of the driver can make all the differance in the world, especially in a stick shift. Numbers are just that, NUMBERS!
