Default Advice for changing rear bulbs

Yesrterday I changed my hood liner and also received a turn signal out light indication light. I was only able to reuse 7 out of the 13 plastic rivets from the hood liner. When I got into the trunk I was surprised to find the same plastic rivets (Part # 06104900AA). Of these 8, I was only able to reuse 4 of them. My suggestion is to keep 3 or 4 of these on hand. Also the turn signal at NAPA was somewhat costly -- $4.29 for one of these. They only had one.

If you think the bulbs are costly, then about $4 a pop for the plastic rivet will really chill your gills. I have yet to buy a plastic fastener for less than this price at the stealership, an auto parts store will probably be less though.

Hi 180

Think I paid $3.00 a piece for the rivets from the Jeep dealership. I was expecting about $2.50 for the bulbs in a package of two. Like many other things for my Mercedes products up here, they only stock one of a kind if that. I went for windshield wipers for the wife's Mercedes and they only had one pair. I guess when you only have 4 Xfires in a town of 80,000 and only about 5 Mercedes you can expect that. I also have to special order Mobil 1 0-40 for the cars. Checker had only 4 bottles.

180 You were right on again. I ordered some of those fastners for future use and they had gone up a lot. They were $5.00 for each one. That is $80 dollars to fasten the side carpets when changing the bulbs. If any one has another source for these please post it.

Another tip while changing bulbs,

Purchase a tube of di-electric grease and apply it to bulbs and sockets.
This will help prevent corrosion from moisture, and prevent arcing.

I went to a dealership today to buy a plastic clip that holds the door panel to the door. They did not have it of course but the parts guy said he had something similar, and guess what ... he was going to give it to me no charge. Unfortunately it would not have fitted so I declined to take it as it was nearly but not quite the same. The guy had never seen me before, but I had the oil changed there a couple of times until the service adviser pi$$ed me off.
I was upset that they had tightened the wheel nuts on my 300 so tight that another dealership had to replace half the nuts and replace some studs because they were ruined and some even had to be drilled to get them off. The guys attitude was not too friendly, I guess they do not get complaints too often.
They were so tight the air tool just stalled and a 5' pipe was used on a long socket handle.

The parts number is Chrysler part number. They are $5.00 each.

As you look into the trunk on the right side, becareful of a very weak plastic piece that holds the side panel near the tail light. Use caution that you do not snap this off when you are removing these rivets. I believe this is a very poor design and will not handle much stress/pressure.

well I had a gallon of blue coral blow up in the back of my car, so i had to pull everything out. I have a wholesale account at chrysler so that should help a bit.
If not, I'll find a solution.

Do you mind sharing which dealership. I want to stay away from that one.
