Cd Changer Install For 2005 Crossfire Oem Infinity Radio
I'm sure you know the CD changer only works with the Factory Nav unit. Standalone CD changers are old technology and bulky too. A better and less expensive option is to pick-up Rudy's (Accellerated Industries) ipod Controller. It'll handle up to 594 tunes on a flash drive and takes up very little space.
If you have a base coupe radio (not sure about the limited crossfire radio).... do yourself a favor and get a Blaupunkt radio from Crutchfield. My radio was a plug and play. Crutchfield sends you the radio keys for free. Just slip them in the front holes and slide the factory radio out. Unplug the conector and plug it in to the Blaupunkt (the wires and plug are identical). Slide the new radio in and that is it! Took me 10 minutes and I did it myself. I didn't need some kid from Best buy wrecking my car.
The radio I got has a front aux jack. I use it to play my ipod or I create MP3 discs with hundreds of songs because the radio can read it. I adjusted the color on the face so it is green like the interior. Plus I got a model with a silver face panel that matches the interior trim so it looks like the radio belongs there. The best $140 I ever spent. And if I ever decide to put the factory radio back in I can do it in 10 minutes.
If you have any questions there are many threads with pictures... or you can send me a email.

If you have the Nav radio. You'll need a Becker Silverstone 7860 CD changer, there's not much room in the cabin to mount it so it'll probably end up in the trunk. They turn up on ebay for like $400 used. The 2662 is a lot cheaper but won't interface with the xf radio. But really, CD's are going the way of 8 track tape and cassettes, so why bother?

Even if he doesn't want to mess with an ipod, get a new radio for $150 and burn some MP3 discs. You can fit 15 cd's on one MP3 disc....so why would you need a cd changer? CD's are a thing of the past.
