While I'm sure the engine mods do help, the aero of this car is helping out as well.

How much does it affect the overall coefficient? Not sure, I'm no aeronautical engineer. But I just know Steve could tell a huge difference on his as the needle climbed. He not only felt the difference, but heard it as well. And if you can "hear" the air catching on something, it means that area could be smoother (think bad weather-stripping).

Any sport-touring coupe that gets ~30mpg is a freaking winner in my book. That's only 4mpg away from a Focus, and we're a lot faster and better looking.
John, if you are getting 28-29 mpg it is only because you are driving like a Nancy Boy. Come on dude.... Put your foot in it... You will like it. LOL

mileage....what is that exactly? I look to see how many miles it is, then, run like .e... to get there in the least amount of time....so mileage must be the average speed it took to get there....and the next trip, you need to be quicker....right? So, that would mean I increased my mileage....lol

Does everyone get water in there splash shield?? Is this normal?
If so, has anyone done anything about it...besides removing the shield altogether?

Thanks...Ben

Danimal did the drill a hole trick and seems happy with it..... the rest of us either take it off or ignore it... I do both...

I drilled two 3/8 's hole's in the lowest area of the engine catch pan while doing my last oil change, problem solved...no more dribbling water days after a rain shower.
