Default @$%^&$# headlight!!!

Well, my passenger side low beam went out and I bought a new one to get it taken care of real quick. While reinstalling, ******* clip fell inside the headlight. there was some kind of opening which I did not see and the clip slipped right in there. What do I do now? If it is something huge, screw it, I am gonna ductape the bulb the keep it tight instead of getting another clip or tearing the car apart to find the lost clip. Stupid design when it comes to bulb removal. Why in the hell didnt they simply design a twist in and twist out?!!?!?!?!

god damn it!!!

Good luck. Taking the headlamp housing out and shaking will work.

It's only 4 bolts!

I hear it isnt easy to take the headlight assembly out Max. I read that i would have to either remove the bumper or remove the front wheels to remove some parts before I can access to the bottom bolts.

Yes at minimum the wheel - you can get to the 2 bottom bolts through the fog light access door. (small hands and being a contortionist are helpful)
Then 2 bolts on top.
I found it still does not "fall" out- it is manipulated to fit.
Good luck - it is a pain but better than not doing it right.

Try a magnet on a flexible rod to get it unless you drove around and shook the headlight. I dropped a valve ( changing springs ) in a 4 cyclinder and got it and reinstalled it by going thru the spark plug hole, you can do things if you wish. Woody

That is the right idea.

I used a telescoping magnet and went in from the high beam side. It may take a couple of days of driving to have it shift around, but you can always use the clip from the high beam until you get it. Good luck Musclefan21.

well, i'll just give one recent example. i had the opportunity to buy an '85 supra with 7k original miles. i, also, had the opportunity to buy a '78 cosmo with 42k original miles. both immaculate. both expensive. i didn't buy either because i bought an '05 crossfire srt-6 with 300 miles. however, none of those cars was altered (lowered, cheap, etc.) because i knew that if i had to change a light bulb, i might have to remove the front clip. and if i removed the front clip, i'd have learned so much in the process and i never would have complained because i loved the car. and i bought the "right" car to begin with. not something that looked "kewl" or was the right color or was something i thought i could afford. if you want a ferrari, buy a ferrari and don't complain about the service. like so many do here.

Well, my friend, first and foremost thing to do is take a deep breath, because **** happens....go buy yourself a magnet on a rod, at any auto parts store. The ones that flex and go fishing my friend...simple as that....

I did the same thing, I wasn't able to get the headlight assembly out. I never did find the clip, I was able to get an extra one from someone on this site. (The dealership wanted to sell me a whole new heasdlight assembly.
I also did the duct tape thing until I got my clip. lol

possibly if you take a breath and ask on here someone may have an extra clip to give you. it beats the tar out of complaining about the design which you have no contril over

you'll let my "ignorance slide this time"? wow, how thoughtful of you...like i fu*king care. if you don't like your car, sell it and get a toyota where you can twist and 10-12mm all you want. whining about the crossfire *you* chose doesn't fix anything. be glad you're learning from it and move on.

Musclefan21 go on and take the headlight assembly out. It's really not that hard, you have to jack up the car, remove the wheel, plastic shield around the wheel, remove the plastic grill, the four bolts holding the headlight on. Now the fun part, there is a torx screw to the right of the headlight, remove it and there are two bolts holding the passenger side bumper to the wing. Remove those, and slowly work the headlight out. You're going to have to do this anyway because it's going to be damn near impossible to get the clip back on with out doing this.

I'm going to bed, but call me tomorrow after noon and I can answer any question you may have.

To MusicNSurf and Muscle.

I know where MusicNSurf is coming from. We all told you (including myself) that you should pass on this particular car. I didn't like the way it was modified and felt it was damaged goods. Based on all your posts with shock issues, door panel issues... etc. I would say everyone's first impression of this vehicle was correct. You already spent a small fortune on repairs. There were also a lot of strange noises in that race track video you had but I just assumed it was the camera work and Microphone and not your car.

You jumped on buying this car and probably should have waited for the right one to come along. BUT WE CAN'T CRY OVER SPILLED MILK. What is done is done so you obviously have to fix everything. I am not saying Muscle is a bad guy and I hate to say "I told you so" when you are down. So just keep the faith and work out the kinks one issue at a time. Pretty soon you will get there. There is no need to give up on a car just because it needs a little help and TLC. Deep down we are all broken and need to be fixed... So no need to shoot the horse... fix it! Every Crossfire deserves a chance!

MusicN Surf is just speaking his mind and telling the truth. That is all. I prefer not to hit a man when he is down. I also figure I told you not to buy this car a million times already so there is no need to keep repeating myself. Just fix the car and keep the Crossfire on the road. It deserves to live
