Crossfire cigar humodor
I rcvd my luggage today, and with came a flyer showing the Crossfire cigar humidor. As a cigar smoker, it cought my eye. It is made to fit into the center armrest storage area. Made in stainless steel, it is a beauty. The price is $249, well worth it. Stores 12 cigars and comes with a lighter and cutter, both top grade. The only thing holding me back is, so far I have resisted smoking in my car. Been two weeks now.
If anyone is interested in seeing it, go to www.chrysler.com/giftgallery

Smoker, Cigar, Pipe and Cigarettes (if its tobacco and burns, I'll breath it)
There are a couple issues with the car and smoking you might keep in mind...
1) Rain. Water rolls right in through the window if you have it cracked in the rain. Nothing new, most cars do that, but the drop either hit on the arm, or roll down the interior door panel right into the door speaker. Be careful in rain.
2) Upholstry. The interior roof material is very light coloured and thin material. It burns very easily. Just one small bump while tamping an ash out the cracked window and you might mar the ceiling. I did. Just a very minor tough with a cigarette. Cleaned the discolouration with some work (and Resolve carpet cleaner). But, the material is soo thin the threads are obviously singed if you know where to look. Unless raining (above) I'd recommend lowering the window as far as you can stand it.
3) Lighter. The handle seems too tiny to me. I have a hard time grabbing it after I light it. Not impossible, just not easy. Also, the soft plastic of the center console dings and (I fear) melts very easily. Watch out when replacing the lighter. If you have a manual, I won't recommend using the light until you are in 6th or at a traffic light (don't want to be in a hurry to use that hand when using the lighter).
4) Ashtray. This is actually very nice (for the driver). Passengars will have a problem with it (shifter in the way). But, close, and lit. The tray itself is plastic. That is, unfortunately, the norm these days. So, expect burn-melts into this if you use it.
5) Other Stuff.
Hand rollers will find the steering wheel is a bit to fat to steer with the pinkies and roll. But, if you can roll and drive you won't be too daunted by this. (Ahem)
Smell conscious people will ofcourse have a problem with the small cockpit. It will reek for days. If you are concerned, Cloves work wonders. Long trips I try and make sure my last road smoke is a Djarm(sp) which covers the cigarette smell great, and fades itself fairly quickly. Mine still smells "new" despite the hundreds of cigarettes and dozens of cigars smoked in it so far (no pipe drives yet... Hmmm. Theres an excuse for this weekend).

thanks for the link. i figure if i really needed that 80$ then it wouldn't have been just sitting there in the checking account :P :P

galen, thanks for the tips. being the closet smoker i am, i too, enjoy one in the comfort and privacy of my own car. and you're right about the upholstry on the ceiling...
i've had it happen, and while i did virtually the same as you to make it less noticeable (and have since refrained from smoking in my crossfire as much as possible!), i had no idea an ash blowing back in would singe so quickly. luckily it's it's near the edge, but i know it's there.
does anyone know (or have any idea) how easy or difficult it would be to have that fabric replaced? or should i leave well-enough alone...? thanks for any advice. bonster
