Does anyone know how to remove the passenger seat? I heard there are 4 bolts and I was able to easily remove the 2 on the left near the console. The bolts on the right appear to be blocked by a metal piece, how in the world do you get to it? I circled the metal part below that is blocking me from using my wrench.

 

Those bolts will remove the seat from the track, they are the wrong ones. There are four e-socket bolts that go down into the floor, one at each corner and you have to move the seat in two different positions to get to them. All the way forward for the back ones and all the way back with the seat back straight up to get to the front ones. There are three electrical connectors that need to be unplugged too.

Also don't forget to unhook your battery because it will turn on an air bag light if you don't

 

Interesting.... I never had that happen to me. I just remove the 4 bolts, tilt the seat forward to unhook the wire harness, and lift the seat out. I never had an air bag light come on.

 

I would say he must of had the ignition on while the seat was out, I have pulled a lot of air bag system parts out with the key OFF and never had a problem with air bag lights.

 

I never had it happen to me either but I read it on here somewhere once and I figured better safe then sorry

 

Since the air bag systems started they have always suggested removing the neg cable on the battery before ( servicing any component of the air bag system ) as a precationary messure. I have been in dealers for over 27 years and have never seen any accidents as of yet, nor have I had any, but for those of us who have not had the experience with these systems it would be a good idea just for safety reasons, I will admit I have heard stories about them going off while checking out the system, and even GM states never set the Tech 2 up on the steering wheel cause if the air bag goes off you will be wearing the Tech 2, but I also think that it was a technician error when this happened, but when removing a seat, steering wheel, or a sensor, as long as the key is out of the ignition switch and off, there should never be a problem from just unpluging and pluging in, the part in question.

 

I too am trying to remove passenger seat on crossfire, the seat will not go forward enough to access rear bolts that are attached through tracking and into the floor, how can I get the seat moved further forward???it stops short.
