Default good news

Today I am happy to announce that my cup holder broke, and it broke in the closed position woooooooooooooooo. also I put in two 12" pioneer subs with a 500W Memphis amp, I couldn't find a ground in the rear of the car so I ran the ground wire to the engine bay. I know which is a no-no but its temporary until someone can tell me where the flip there is a ground without digging to deep. Has anyone found anything clever to do with your cupholder?

If you have the ground in the engine bay ground it to the batt.

Gidday fellow Xfire owners, i'm brand new to this forum, {very impressed] . I'm from Tasmania Australia and have just bought a 2005 Xfire coupe, black with black leather, 65,000 kilometers, $30,000 AUS. They are still very expense over here [$78,000 AUS when new!] Any way my drinkholder also broke in the closed position, and i was wondering how to open it back up to either fix it?? or is there a replacement tray or something, so am looking forward to seeing more about this topic. Incidently just having a new steering damper fitted tomorrow under warranty, Price is......... $1348.00 Aus, can't believe how lucky you are having such cheap prices over there in the USA!! Regards Exocet

Welcome to the forum. Not sure what the exchange rate is, but that sounds very expensive for a US$30-40 part. When you're out of warranty, I am sure someone here can order small parts and ship them. You would probably find some of the online parts houses will also ship anywhere against a credit card. E.g., brake pads are about US$100 per set here.

Use a chassis ground. I have been running like this with 4ga to the battery and a chassis ground right under the panels in the rear, works great.

What is this cupholder thing, of which you speak? I have something on the console that I thought may be a cupholder, but when I placed a coffee cup in there I found out it's purpose was apparently to poke holes in cups and allow the contained fluids to drain properly. Or some other purpose for which I haven't figured out.

Thanks guys for the replies, have just found out the part is available here in Aus , about $100, and as far as brakes go have just had front rotors machined and new pads fitted for $170 Aus. The local Chrysler dealer quoted $560 Aus........ just gotta shop around! Spark plugs quote from Chrysler, $30 each, but can get Merc ones from an importer for $12! My interior automatic adjust rear view mirror does not work, dealer quote $1100 Aus, does anyone in USA know the availability and price? Would appreciate greatly any info from anybody. Regards Exocet.
