Default Seatbelt Alarm

I bought my crossfire about a week ago and I love it, however, I hate that annoying seatbelt alarm if you don't immediately put your seat belt on. I have already almost been in accidents because of it. Can anyone tell me how to turn it off?

I think people posted things awhile back about how there's no real way to turn it off. I have to say, after owning my new crossfire for 3 weeks now, that is the most annoying sound in the world, and I find myself screaming at it on occasion...SHUT UP! I KNOW! I'LL PUT IT ON IN A SECOND!

Ummm... yeah... PUT YOUR DAMN SEATBELT ON!

As a practicing paramedic, I just don't get it why somebody would even CONSIDER driving a car without seatbelts on. ESPECIALLY one with airbags, where I've seem some people really F..KED UP when they got in an accident that deployed the airbags and they weren't buckled in. Nasty.

Thanks Dave, I understand what youfre saying. I do wear my seatbelt when I am driving, but not when backing out of the garage to wash it or other circumstances when Ifm just sitting in an idle car. That's when the alarm is annoying.

Thank the safety fanatics in previous administrations. I ALWAYS wear a saftey belt, and I don't need an alarm to remind me.

I don't know if this will help you but here is my experience. My dealer replaced my instrument pod becasue they scratched it, and when I got the car back the seatbelt warning was totally different. It chimed for a couple of seconds then stopped and then the warning light went out. This was heaven, but the problem was nothing else on the pod worked right either. It turns out that the pod has to be programed to take the data from all the sensors, seat belt engaged, etc... and light the proper light and sound the correct chime. The tech people called Chrysler to learn how to program the instrument pod properly and now everthing works correctly, even the seatbelt alarm. I always wear my belt anyway so it doesn't bother me except when it's time to play musical cars in my small driveway.
